For most of you TERMINAL TWILIGHT is an unknown name. Same happened to us a few months ago until we were introduced to their music via two vinyl releases. WE FELL IN LOVE. Their sound is amazing, full of sexy vintage synths, danceable rhythms, great melodies and a sweet voice that will stay in your head for months. They also have a certein melancholic feel that will keep you in tune... Did we mention they are a proper band and that they live in Los Angeles?

"Black and Blue" is something like a re-release without actually being a re-release. Confused? Keep reading! Last year TERMINAL TWILIGHT released the original version of "Black and Blue" on 12" and because it's now deleted and we LOVED this song so much we asked them to let us release this song with remixes. The rest, as they say, it's history.

Because we at DISCOTEXAS don't like to take the easy way, there was an accident during a move to their new studio that destroyed many of the original tracks of this song, almost making this release impossible. TERMINAL TWILIGHT went back in to the studio and re-recorded some of the original tracks and added new ones. This means that we have for you a BRAND NEW VERSION exclusive for our label.

We asked LAZYDISCO, MIRROR PEOPLE (who will both have new releases on DISCOTEXAS soon) and Japan's ASTROLABE to work with "Black and Blue" and the result is shown above. Three different aproaches from more danceable to more dark feels.

Prior to the release, DJ support has been GREAT, with some big names of todays most exciting disco and electronic music praising these tracks.

Be on the watch for TERMINAL TWILIGHT because they will be your new favourite band! They just completed their debut album, "House of Love", to be out in June on their Infinite Soundtracks label and shows will follow.

TRONIK YOUTH (Back-Yard): Love all the remixes. Lazydisco and Mirror People would work well out and Astrolabe is great for home play too.
STOPMAKINGME (Kill Em All): I'm really into the original. Will definitely be playing.
NORTH LIGHTS (Badlife): I’ll play the remix of Mirror People! My favorite.
BXENTRIC (MODA): This whole release is amazing but were drawn to the original, it has this evil soul balanced with the innocence of the vocal. This single oozes emotions within us.
MODE (Codek): Sounds like a strong release to me. Especially like Mirror People and Astrolabe remixes.

Discotexas is an electronic music label and event series based in Lisbon. Founded circa 2007 by Moullinex & Xinobi. They gave birth to it as a platform to release their music and the music they love, gathering outstanding artists in what can only be called a family affair.
