"Essentia" is the first episode of a six-part DJ mix series called CIRCUITS. Each of the six editions of CIRCUITS will focus on a different style and mood, reflecting my deep love for all angles of electronic music and beyond. 

"Essentia" is a 66-minute ride focuses on raw, straightforward techno music that captures the energy in the middle of the night – no long intros, no filler, straight to the point. While some of the tunes have been long-time favorites I’d enjoyed playing during my residency sets at :// about blank, this mix symbolizes the conclusion of the pandemic for me while celebrating the return to club and nightlife.

In neuroscience, a circuit can refer to a group of neurons that are connected in a specific way to produce a particular function, such as the circuits involved in vision, hearing, or movement. So listen, dance, and enjoy the journey!

Summer Haus Feeling

Whippin’ some wax this time is none other than Mogus. You never know what you’re gonna get with our next guest. A DJ and curator representing Antwerp, where his passion for music and events has been a driving force since 2007. Often pondering over the analogy of music and art; he aims to break away from the monotonous uniformity often found in music. Lately he has immersed himself in new projects with two events in Ghent and Berlin on the horizon. 

For our next Hot Series sesh, Mogus ejects his favourite cuts through the stratosphere. Catching you with a breakbeat-inspired intro he then attacks with bloody acid lines delivering your daily dose of 303 madness. This 22-tracker flies by in about an hour, catching you with a range of different emotions and perspiration all reminiscent of our beloved 90's era. With an experimental approach and a penchant for darker, trippier vibes, Mogus's take on the twelfth Hot Series promises an intense sonic journey.

Machine Cult — the Amsterdam-based electronic platform run by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe — returns with the Edition Four release party at OT301 on 7 November.

The new V.A. compilation features tracks from Garçon Taupe, Bertram, 2:29, Beau Wanzer, Déandrah, and Masha Wordpress. At the launch, all contributing artists will play DJ sets, with Déandrah providing live visuals throughout the night.

Expect an evening of potent electronics and immersive visuals, celebrating the forefront of the underground.

Every motion leaves an echo.

Some parts of us cancel out — out of phase, out of step —

Discrete Circuit has made a significant impact in Berlin's electronic music scene as a promoter, producer, DJ, and label owner. With releases on labels such as DVS1's Mistress Recordings, Delsin, and Darko Esser's Wolfskuil, he established his own imprint ASTRAY, to showcase and explore his techno sound. Shaped by the creative vibrancy of Berlin, the soul of Detroit, and UK's dark aesthetics, he draws inspiration to keep forging his sonic identity.
