If you know about Playhouse then you’ll know Losoul. He’s been a big part of what they do since the mid-90s, housing his abstractly formed house on the Frankfurt based landmark house label which in itself is an icon of quality cuts. More recently however the German groove maker has been continuing his legacy on a label that’s a little closer to home for us: the Bristol homed and Room Three regulars Hypercolour, with a two track twelve entitled Slowly Turning.  

With such a legacy and a demonstrated capacity to turn out the jams on the floor, Hypercolour picked out Losoul to be their next guest for their next label night in Room Three on the 23rd of this month. Don’t be fooled by this mix’s organic sprung low slung introduction Losoul really picks up the pace as it progresses, a slow burner and then before you know it your hands will be jacking in time with the groove.

For this years spring´s edition of the Lab Experience podcast series Audio Werner (Hartchef, Perlon) took a deep dive into his record shelves and created a special seasonal blend of Vinyl only. This is definitely not a dedicated club mix rather than an audible illustration of springtime slowly taking over from cold and dark winter. Starting with atmospheric ambient sounds, warm rhodes & loose soundscapes the journey continues to more rhythmical environments as springtime progresses. If you expect the usual Audio Werner you know from his DJ sets or productions get ready for a completely new experience – it´s all broken beats and you won´t find any 4 to the floor bassdrum here at all. Vince Lemieux is one of these Dj's Dj. Holding one of my top and most admirable mixing techniques, impeccable track selection, this is a guy that can dj anything from Disco to House to Techno and beyond. Since he has now joined the Toi.Toi.Agency I wanted to put a mix out and considering it was at this event we decided to work together I found mostly appropriate to put this recording out. This set completely blew my mind in what was, a very memorable night to us all. 

Get Perlonized is generally held at Panorama Bar but this edition was held in the downstairs floor of Hoppetosse, a room set up with the Martion horns and Bullfrog speakers personally installed by its creator. (more info here: www.residentadvisor.net/features/2312). 

Sammy Dee, Akufen, Zip and Vincent Lemieux guided us through this night, not so hard to see why this event was so memorable,we were in a sonic experience like no other.

Guesthouse is turning 8 years old, so we thought that as a thank you for all your support we would offer this as a little present in preparation for this weekend’s party and in turn for leaving you with the start of a musical legacy we intend to create through this podcast series.

It is such a great pleasure to present you with the first Guesthouse Podcast along with other aspects which we will be bringing out this week such as our brand new website and blog.

To start things off, we have who is, one of the most understated and respected artists in our scene, Rhadoo, to provide us with a recording of his fabric set when the club turned 19 years old last October. A lot could be written and said about this artist who is so outstanding, unique and historically relevant to minimalism, however, in order to be in line with his identity and his understatement we will let the music speak for itself. 

We would like to thank fabric for granting us this recording and wish them a great night this Saturday as they have their annual RPR Soundsystem gathering. 

Back here in Bucharest, we will be celebrating with a stellar line up including Charlie, Christopher Ledger, Inner, Junki Inoue, Kozo, Praslea and Vera.
