After three years of releasing some incredible music on vinyl, murmur announces a special limited CD episode in nofitstate. Spanning two discs, this arcane journey is steered by murmur’s creator, Geddes, who reveals an intriguing musical vision.
Disc two is an exclusive live opus from murmur lead artist and studio mastermind, Tom Demac, who executes a bold approach full of captivating energy in this collection of tracks, all rehashed and re-approached for the project.

nofitstate has previously been a string of well-cultivated events, mainly occurring in the murmur London base but also shaping special occasions such as Miami’s WMC. With Geddes at the helm it has gained a loyal following through the finest selection of guests and acute attention to details. This compilation is a chance to mark the success of the series.

The first disc is a collection of current and future productions, handpicked and inventively re- crafted by Geddes. This selection is reflective of his personal musical identity, unmasking an original music selection that has emotion at its base. Featuring exclusive unreleased material on murmur from James What and a Glimpse remix of Lewie Day (one of the biggest releases for murmur in original form), as well as creative underground choices from the likes of Deniz Kurtel, Delano Smith, Gregory Thyme, Seth Troxler and two tracks from Jay Shepheard. Geddes pays heed to prime imprints Running Back and Delusions of Grandeur, joining the dots back to murmur’s own unique footprint.

The London born and raised DJ was inspired to do the mix by the disposable trend in modern dance music at present, hoping to highlight and support music that isn’t always new but is undoubtedly timeless. “It’s easy to caught up in wanting to find the next best thing but ultimately the tracks have a weekly life span. I've changed my outlook on DJing and track selection, just playing good music is what counts, not worrying about what's hot next week. Its that same scenario with the internet, as soon as it becomes available digitally the quality goes out the window. The tracks have got to grab my attention and there's got to be something that distinguishes it from the rest, something I could play in a year’s time,” said Geddes of nofitstate, “I've had lots of fun playing each of these tracks in various places, they all do something for me individually and each one has its place”

Using his experience as the creative programmer of mulletover, one of London’s most successful series of events in the last decade, Geddes understood he needed to take a new approach to make the compilation work. “Buying vinyl and going back into the record shop has been an important part of this compilation. When I first started getting into music that part of the experience was massive for me, for a short while I lost that but now its back and I'm happy.”

Michael Vater, better known in music circles as Phonique, has carved out a rich niche for himself in the crowded world of electronic music. Widely regarded as one of the nicest guys in the scene, Vater has come a long way from his humble beginnings in Cologne, fully establishing himself as both a father of the Berlin club scene and a much loved ambassador for house and electronic music all around the world. With way over 100 releases and his own boutique house label Ladies & Gentlemen, Phonique has taken his signature grooves all over the world - more than 50 countries at last count. With countless production and remix credits plus three full albums under his belt, 'Best Of Phonique' is a timely reminder of what makes this artist such a treasure, represented in 23 tracks. 

Long time collaborator Erlend Øye features twice as a guest vocalist - 'For the Time Being' and 'Casualties' both being essential reference points in Phonique's back catalogue. Originally released in 2005, 'For the Time Being' could be the blueprint for many of today's nu-disco producers, classic Vater - melancholic and uplifting at the same time. 

Another landmark collaboration in Vater's discography was with Ian Whitelaw, whose sublime vocals feature on 'Our Time Our Chance', 'Trouble' and 'You That I'm With'. Originally released on Phonique's first album 'Identification' in 2004, 'You That I'm With' is a gorgeous slice of electronic synth pop, while 'Our Time Our Chance' from 2010 is more focused on the deeper reaches of the dance floor, and was widely regarded as one of the tracks of that year. 'Trouble' is a beautifully relaxing and jazzy song with a swinging shuffle beat. Volker Meitz, a jazzy Piano-specialist and recording with Jazzanova, Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, K7 contributed the keyboards - including the dreamy solo.

Elsewhere Phonique continues to display his passion for collaboration with talented vocalists. 'Feel What You Want' highlights the divine sound of Rebecca while 'Endless Love' showcases Louie Austen. 

Phonique's deft touch for creating affecting and beautiful electronic pop music with strong links to the dance floor is fully in evidence on every track. 

Probably the most straight up dance floor track here is 'Divertimento' - a deep burner feat. Guti, with slight Latin swing to it - no doubt a result of Phonique's strong links to the underground scene in Brazil. 

Also included are 'Blindfolded' and 'Space Cruise' which Phonique recorded with Gui Boratto in Sao Paolo - a perfect fusion between Phonique‘s deepness and Gui Boratto‘s exceptional sound aesthetic.

Downtempo sweetener 'Amy’s Heart' contains lyrics by Ruben who was already featured on Phonique's 'Good Idea' album and made this beautiful comback on his third album 'Kissing Strangers'.

Furthermore recent and less recent tracks like 'Roses feat. Data MC and Marc Hype', 'Vincent Price', 'Baku', the 2010 version of 'The Passion' and Tiefschwarz's remix of 'The Red Dress' alongside the best EP tracks perfectly complement this best of collection representing the vast spectrum of Phonique’s creative output.

Среди приложивших руку к 'томатным' трекам значатся Tigerskin, Steve Jones, The Maneken, Playone, Key900 а также сами Tomato Jaws, представившие новые версии своих треков. Поклонникам группы особенно понравится акустическая версия композиции 'Why Don't You', оригинал которой уже несколько месяцев заполняет радиопространство страны. Ориентированный в первую очередь на танцпол, 'Reconstructed' представит тек-хаус версию звучания ставших уже привычными треков киевской команды. К тому же, новый релиз - это не просто альбом ремиксов, но и полноценный dj-микс, над компиляцией и сведением которого поработал участник команды Павел Ленченко. Также на диске, который выпустит в сентябре Moon Records, можно будет увидеть режиссерскую версию клипа "Feel Me".

Release named Reconstructed includes remixes produced throughout the whole period of the Kiev band work. These are the artists, who participated in production of "tomato" tracks: Tigerskin, Steve Jones, The Maneken, Playone, Key900 and of course Tomato Jaws themselves, who represented new edits of their own tracks. Fans might be especially delighted with an acoustic version of 'Why Don't You'. The original one has already filled up ukrainian radio space. Reconstructed, mainly fitted to dance floors, would represent familiar tracks in a new tech house edition. Besides, new release is not just a remixed album but a full value dj mix compiled and mastered by tomato jaws' member Paul Lenchenko. Also CD released in september by Moon rec includes editor's cut of video Feel Me. Preview of our new album is available in 'audio' section of tomatojaws.com.
