〈PAN〉再来襲！現代グライムの旗手、ロンドンのVisionistがデビュー・アルバム『Safe』を携え来日。FKA Twigsとの帯同ツアー、KENZOやAcne Studiosの音楽も手がけ、ファッションまでも巻き込む気鋭がUKサウンドシステム・カルチャーを拡張する日本初のライブを披露。

Objekt、Afrikan Sciences、Bill Kouligas、Lee Gamble、M.E.S.H.、TCF、そしてRashad Beckerと来日ラッシュの続くベルリンの実験／電子レーベル〈PAN〉から今度はロンドンのVisionistが新譜『Safe』を携え来日。ここ数年でUKを中心に再興する00年代前半にダブステップと共に現れたラップ・カルチャー、ロンドン発祥のグライムを再構築しながら、UKの電子音楽やクラブ・ミュージックに根付くUKサウンドシステム・カルチャーを拡張、最新作『Safe』では脱構築を試み、グライムを彫刻のように掘り込みアブストラクトな音像を浮かび上がらせたアート・ピースはクラブや音楽シーンを飛び出しファッションまでも巻き込み話題を集めている。ブリストルとロンドンを中心に新たなる時代を迎えたUKサウンドシステム・カルチャーの前人未踏の領域へと踏み込むフロンティア、Visionistのライブが東京で実現する。

国内アクトには実験的なベース・ミュージックを展開し、唯一無二の音像を築き上げるENA、ウェイトレス・グライム(無重力グライム)と称されるブライトンのプロデューサーMumdanceのトラックで痛快なラップを披露した話題沸騰中のガールズ・ラップ・ユニット嫁入りランド、様々なシーンを媒介し国内外を駆け巡る神出鬼没の電子作家 食品まつり a.k.a foodman、国内グライムを代表するPrettybwoyとMC Pakin、VJは〔PAN Japan Showcase〕にも出演したデザイナー／映像作家Shun Ishizuka、都内を中心に活動するVOIDクルー、Mr. James、asyl cahier、JR ChaparroといったロンドンやNYにも滞在していたインターナショナルなDJが参加。Rabit、Slackk、Visionistといった先鋭をいち早くリリース、東京を拠点とするA Taut LineとBD1982の越境電子レーベル〈Diskotopia〉と矢継ぎ早に新鋭を送り込む同じく東京の流通件レーベル／PRメデイア〈melting bot〉で送るサンデー・アフタヌーン・パーティー。

サウス・ロンドン生まれのルイス・カーネルによるソロ・プロジェクト。 ダブステップの崩壊と共に訪れたUKクラブ・ミュージックの実験期へとさしかかるテン年代初頭に〈Left Bank〉からデビュー、ダブステップとグライムを下地とし、スクリュー・ボイスを織り交ぜたミニマリスティックなサウンド・デザインとトラック・メイキングはたちまち話題となり、UKの〈Leisure System〉、〈RAMP〉、そして日本から〈Diskotopia〉やFuture Brown (WARP)のJ Cush主宰の〈Lit City Trax〉から次々と作品を発表。 KENZO、 Liam Hodge、Roxanne Farahmand、Acne Studiosといったファッション・ブランドの音楽も制作し、2014年にはFKA TwisgsのUKツアーのサポートするなど、 クラブやファッションを跨ぎながら着実に注目度を高める。 また自身のレーベル〈Lost Codes〉を2012年に立ち上げ、SD Laika、 Filter Dread、Acreなど新鋭をリリース、現在は〈PAN〉のサブ・レーベル〈Codes〉となって実験的なベース・ミュージックを展開。アートや音響といったかつてないベクトルを発見し、アブストラクト化するUKサウンドシステム・カルチャーのボーダーを押し広げるフロンティア。

DC Promo Tracks #886: Greeen Linez "Frozen Touch"

Greeen Linez is a collaboration between Chris Greenberg (from the British electronic pop band Hong Kong In The 60s) and UK-born/Tokyo-based DJ/producer A Taut Line (aka Matt Lyne, co-founder of the Diskotopia label). The project combines the ‘90s dance music and R&B that soundtracked Chris and Matt’s childhoods with the ‘70s/’80s jazz-funk and synthesizer soundtracks that they have obsessed over in the years since. All of this is filtered through the cocktail of retro pop, fusion and supermarket muzak that Matt has been exposed to during his time in Japan. Their debut album Things That Fade was released in summer 2012 on Diskotopia, receiving positive reviews in many highly regarded publications, as well as support from internationally famous DJs and producers. Greeen Linez did not start out with the intention of doing remixes, but following the release of their debut EP in 2011, they were approached by various artists they liked and respected, and so could not resist the opportunity to work with them. The duo’s approach to remixing varies greatly, depending on the material they are working with, but their aim is always to add some of their particular sound and atmosphere to the tracks, while remaining true to the spirit of the original music.

フランスの〈7even Recordings〉からのデビュー・アルバムから約一年半、 テクノ / ハウスからベース・ミュージックまでインダストリアルを経由してアブストラクトな音響へと向かうシーンは遂にENAへと追い付いた。40曲の中からコンパイルされた〈Samurai Horo〉からのセカンド・アルバム。波のような高周波と宇宙的アンビエンス、不穏なシンセ、物体が衝突するような破裂音と凍てつく工業音、 細やかなサウンドのレイヤーが織りなすヒプノティックでオーガニックなコラージュ・ループ、ミニマルの固く乾いたキックに躍動するサブ・ベースなどが渾然一体となって、ドラムンベースを下地にした未だかつてないミニマルな音像を構築。ブラックホールに飲み込まれる小惑星帯、地球のコアへと向かう流動体、鼓動する小さな生命体のような壮大なユニバースが繊細かつダイナミックに描かれ、 170BPMという高速の世界から全くの異次元を生み出した、ベース・ミュージック、そしてテクノの怪奇的なマスターピースがここに誕生。CDのみとなるディスク2にはアルバムを反映した50分に及ぶライブ・レコーディングを収録。

エナ・バイオグラフィー

東京を拠点とするプロデューサーYu Asaedaのソロ・プロジェクトENA (エナ)。 90年代のアブストラクト・ヒップホップ、レイヴそしてドラムンベースからインスピレーションとDJクラッシュから多大な影響を受けトラック制作を開始、ヒップホップから始まりドラムンベース、2008年にレーベル〈IAI〉を立ち上げダブステップへと移行、ユニークな音色とディープな音像は〈Tectonic〉を筆頭とした00年代後期のミニマルな音響へと向かうダブステップと共振し、フランスのダブステップ・レーベル〈7even〉から12”とデビュー・アルバム『Bilateral』を発表。 DJでは国内ダブステップの総本山〈Back  To Chill〉のメンバーとなり、2013年にResident Advisorのポッドキャストでミックスを披露。ベース・ミュージックを音響的なループで浮かび上がらせるスタイルはテクノ ・シーンから大きな反響を呼び、活躍の場を広げる。そして170 bpmの実験音楽を掲げるベルリンのバイナル・オンリー・レーベル〈Samurai Horo〉から念願の12”を発表。これまでにLoxy、Akkord、Synkro、Indigo、ASC、Felix K、Distal、Perverlistなどからサポートを受け、最近ではLee GambleのRAミックスにも収録されるなど、ベース・ミュージックの感性で紡がれる実験的でミニマルな音像はシーンを超え有機的な発展をみせている。

Proceeding into the fall from a sweltering summer last inhabited by the epic G​reeen Linez album T​he Calm,​ D​iskotopia​ co-­head B​D1982​ offers a 4­ track EP titled S​alience a​s a mood-­altering supplement. The material here was inspired by the various neuro­physical responses to environmental stimuli in everyday situations. B​D1982’​s sonic manifestation of this particular exploration of self is an organic progression from where last year’s O​perratorr​ EP left off although new horizons are subtly breached and expanded upon in a skewed fashion befitting the Diskotopia lineage.
						
The fluttering synths which open S​patial​ set an affable tone that carries throughout the proceedings even as a weighted bassline drags the journey into full subterranean depths. Spatial ​is what would arise on a spliced tape reel recorded during a twenty-­four hour bashment rave held in a Nordic techno club during the darkest light of winter months.
						
The broken pulsating funk of P​hysical ​presents a psychedelic turn of the corner in the mind’s eye. Traces of tribal percussion find themselves intertwined with phased Moog phrases and fused with Akai-­indebted pattern formations. P​hysical​ manifests as a soundtrack to windmill routines at a b­-boy battle held miles above the Bronx on a helicarrier made from obsolete Yamaha keyboards in an alternate version of 1996.
						
There’s an undeniable aura of dread in the midst of O​beah Mirrors. ​A ghostly shell of garage slinks and slides around bursts of electricity that accentuate an incessant drive of mutated arpeggios. Running O​beah Mirrors​ in fine style is sure to cause trace trans­dimensional hieroglyphs to appear on the walls of any establishment in which it is unleashed.
						
Myakkah​ finds his way back to D​iskotopia ​by way of a sensual edit of R​otary Drive.​ A lived-­in quality waxes the bloodshot lense here, lending the mind to wander to past days of loves both won and lost to the ether. Knocking kicks and agile claps tether a bubbling lead to a saturated body leaving the senses to take over mind, body and soul in a warehouse sense of salience.
