The self titled debut album is majorly influenced by Dismal Plight’s heroes from the 80s. You can hear the obvious winks to bands such as Joy Division, The Cure, New Order and Sad Lovers And Giants as well as to Clan of Xymox and early Felt. With synths and drum machines from that period Dismal Plights attempts to create an authentic sound adapted for the 21st century.

“A Man Who’s Already Drowning” is the debut single from Sweden’s Dismal Plight. It’s an uptempo post-punk track about man’s helplessness before the inevitable. Heavy use of drum machines, synths and guitars make up this 80s inspired first taste of Dismal Plight.

“Forever and Always” is the first single to emerge from Swedish artist Dismal Plight since his self-titled debut album last year. The bombastic New Wave single deals with the frightening insight that you never can outrun your past. As per usual the song is filled with synths and drum machines of the 80s along with haunting guitars and vocals in the style of Post-Punk greats of the past.

Dismal Plight is the solo project of Gustav Tranback of Salt Lake Alley. Dismal Plight is Gustav’s way to channel his love for everything Post-Punk, New Wave, Goth and Synth.
