"Serendipity" is the occurrence of an unplanned fortunate discovery. In this case, I found this bass improvisation I recorded 3 years ago (and totally forgot about) in mp3 format. I thought it wasn't possible for sound engineers to do something out of it. Fortunately for me, I'm surrounded by very talented friends. Lucky me :)

Serendipity

When you feel trapped, in any way, and try to get rid of that awful and disgusting feeling... That's what I tried to do, with my bass, against that continuing loop that could represent anything we want to get away from. Could be the System/Pain/Addiction/Religion/Pressure/Economy/Gravity/Sickness/Injustice/Oppression/Manipulation... Each bass lead and melody represents my artistic vision of it.

This is a one take impro recording I did, using my handmade fretless bass (with a pic), my overdrive pedal and my optical Wah.

Wide Open Wings, On Solid Ground

This song is my personal instrumental tribute to the great "Sans Pression", who helped Hip Hop became something big in the province of Quebec (Canada), mostly in the late 90's and 2000's. In 2017, I had the privilege to share the stage with him and playing those big hits was such an amazing experience, I hope it will happen again!

Disorientation is a DIY Dark Symphonic Metal project, created by Marie-Claude Fleury (vocals/guitars/oboe/drum programming) and Daniel Daris (bass/guitar) in 2020. This project's goal is to be the extreme opposite of what most of Metal bands try to reach, by using and putting the human element forward, instead of counting on actual and modern writing and recording methods.

While other symphonic acts portray beauty, wonder and grandeur, Disorientation takes you down a path of troubling disarray, crippling misery and severe anguish you can’t escape from.
