With a feature on the upcoming ‘Stolen Velour’ (Kindergarten Records) release Xu Lai is fluently expanding his sonic palette while effortlessly bridging the worlds of underground dance music and rap. His move into this scene offers limitless freedom for expression, an energy that can’t be contained.

DISPLAY’s first split tape release of 2024 features two pieces by the artist Burning Pyre: one solo and one in collaboration with the label’s founder, Kid Smpl.

The release begins with the nearly 18 minute long solo track “Healthcare.” A meditative piece that mutates from washed out dronescapes to crystal clear synth constructions all emblematic of the artist’s pensive and imaginative style. On the B-Side we find “Peradam” a shimmering, snow-blinded collaboration that highlights both of the artists’ melodic sensibilities.
