Influenced by the likes of Paul Kalkbrenner, Extrawelt, Jon Hopkins and Recondite, Toulouse-born techno live act and producer Idem Nevi’s humble beginnings playing at small local venues soon burgeoned into touring Europe alongside Regal and Agents Of Time. Having founded Requested Soul Records in 2020 as an outlet for his productions, receiving support from Richie Hawtin, Charlotte De Witte, Marcel Fengler, 747 and Slam, Nevi makes a fierce return to his brainchild after a brief hiatus with his ten-track album, ‘Lost Alchemy’.

“This album is quite special to me as this is the project that helped me to stay ‘on my feet’ during these past two years during the pandemic. The creative process was as messy as my life during this period but led to the creation of ‘Lost Alchemy’. What is kind of funny is that my life got back into place gradually at the same time as I was finishing the album.

From raving to returning to a regular job and changing cities twice due to a tough separation, I tried to keep creating music. ‘Lost Alchemy’ reflects all we lost during this period, seeking a new balance in life amongst change. All this led to what I can call a dancefloor-oriented album full of melodies, melancholia and heavy beats. It combines the deep feelings and raw emotions from mind during this strange period, and compared to a lot of techno albums maybe, I really tried to tell a story from the first track to the last, and would recommend listening in full to get what I’m aiming to express.” - Idem Nevi

Joining the WCF imprint with his 'Distorted Time EP', the Manchester based Transcode brings his driving sound to Egg LDN's in-house label to showcase his versatile approach to production.

With the vinyl press being released at the beginning of November, followed by the digital version, which includes the bonus track 'Backlash', due out on 14th December, the EP includes two remixes by the club's close friends Secret Cinema and OC & Verde.

'Timewarp' opens up the release, immediately setting a tripped out tone with its distorted vocals and a slightly menacing melody, which bubbles under the surface throughout the track.

'Rotation' is a slightly darker and dubber production complemented by crisp hi-hats and well-rounded drums. It is a perfect intro to building up an extended set.

Secret Cinema leaves his stamp on 'Timewarp' with an ominous Remix of Transcode's Original. Again, it fits into the shady feel of the EP but the Dutch producer brings an enchanting feel to the track, with a twinkling melody laced throughout.

Manchester based OC & Verde bring their stamp to the release with their remix of 'Rotation'. Using a blend of drawn-out synths to build up a powerful lead, packed with raw percussions, it certainly shows the sonic direction the duo has been working on over the last year.

Completing the digital edition with a bonus track, Transcode rounds off the EP with 'Backlash'. A punchy and unrelenting track, it's a peak time tune which is one of those tracks for a heaving dance floor to relish in what the Mancunian producer is all about.

Boris Brejcha's "Purple Noise" has been one of his most popular and successful tracks ever and if this doesn't pant for more then what does?
So months later into some serious thought process and thanks to the incredible collaboration with fellow artists such as WorakIs, Moritz Hofbauer and Ann Clue we are proud to finally share this massive remix EP with you.

The first jaw-dropping moment during this project was when we received WorakIs interpretation of "Purple Noise". Let's go out on a limb here for a second and call his remix "anthem of 2021" which actually doesn't seem so far-fetched once you've listened to this journey yourselves. WorakIs certainly takes electronic music storytelling to whole nother level with this dramatic and incredibly powerful sound experience. 

Moritz Hofbauer continues with a wonderful rollercoaster ride through atmospheric vastnessnes coupled with gripping percussions and a bold bassline. It's the impressive diversity of this remix which makes it stand out so much.

Ann Clue, a long-time companion of Boris worked some real magic with her approach to "Purple Noise". While she allows the tender lead melody to float through a wide space of peace and harmony she still trusts in her uncompromising knack for propulsive percussive elements. 

Last but not least the maestro himself sat down to give his masterpiece a new paint. The outcome is a 2021 edit which is another reminder of why Boris Brejcha has become such a driving creative force in the music business over the last couple of years. Furthermore it's this kind of dedication to music which allows us to look forward into the future optimistically.
