Queen of The Jungle - Dj Rap, who, along with DJ Storm & Kemistry (R.I.P) are without doubt the 3 most influential ladies in the Jungle/ DnB Scene over the past 3 decades.
 DJ, Producer, Actress and owner of Proper Talent label  DJ Rap is one of the scenes foundation DJs. She started off Djing for Pirate station Rave FM and was resident Dj at Telepathy and the Astoria in the 90's and played at some of the biggest raves at the beginning of the Jungle Era
After spending some years on the US she is now back tearin up the dance in the UK.
For this mix we are focusing on the years '92 to '95 featuring solo stuff, collabs and remixes featuring labels Suburban Base, Dee Jay Recordings, Proper Talent, Urban Gorilla and After Dark Recordings

Summer is winding down and I am still hard at work trying to bring all of you the best mixes from the who is who in the DNB/jungle scene!!

This week's episode is another BIG ONE!!!

Before I get to this week's mix, I would like to thank Basement Phil for his mix for episode 275!! Great reaction and praise for that mix, it took everyone way back I'm sure!!

This week I bring you an exclusive mix from Spirit!! Exclusive being the operative word, there are tons of tracks on this one that will not be out for at least another 6 months!!

I love spirit's sounds and have a lot of vinyl featuring him and collabs with Digital!! Some of my favorite Spirit tracks include, Raygun, VIP Dial, and Garrison Law, which features himself, Digital, and Response, and of course the DNB classic, Phantom Force, with himself and Digital!! These are must have tracks here, pick them up!!

Spirit's mix comes on the heals of his release on Metalheadz in May with Digital, BIG Tunes, and his Retrospective Volumes 1 and 2, both on his seminal DNB label, Inneractive Music!! Retrospective Volumes 1 and 2 came out in May and June and highlights tracks from himself and some of the biggest DNB artists!! Make sure you get both volumes!

SUNANDBASS Podcast #162 - Sydney Bryce & Tones

To celebrate episode 200 of my Radio Show it had to be a special episode right...?
As Goldie once stated "There are really only two kings of this music; Dillinja & Calibre. Everything in between is us,", so who better to have as this month's Producer in Focus than King Dillinja.
In all honesty i wanted to do this episode earlier, i was just in the process of hunting down a few hard to get tracks that were only available on compilation albums before putting this set together
This 2hr plus mix focuses on the time period between '93 and '95 and covers work as Dillinja and under other aliases (Capone, Trinity, Rups), remixes he did during this period and a few collabs with the late DJ Clarky R.I.P , who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
To say he was prolific during this time period is a massive understatement - on top of all the stuff that is still only available on Vinyl (for big $$$ on Discogs), there is a heap of his work that has still never been released(there is a whole thread on Dogs on Acid website solely related to unreleased Dillinja tunes!!)
Thankfully due to the hard work of people like Dom & Roland and Deep Jungle/ Dj Harmony quite a few unreleased dubs from the 90's have finally seen the light of day over the last few years, with hopefully more in the future,

I recorded the one way back in 2003 to give a few hardcore classics and some deeper cuts a bit of spin from the shelves. Some of my fav hardcore tunes from this era are here, particularly those M-Beat and Ibiza cuts, alongside a few big crowd pleasers.

Please excuse the slightly wonky scratching. With hindsight that probably wasn't the best performance. There's also a section where my mixer went a bit bananas and had me trying to fiddle with wires to get tunes to come back in. See if you can figure out where that was.
