

After the Techno, IDM -trips of The Mental Attack, Doorchaser decided to produce a concept album as Distant Fires Burning. Where he lives he can watch the stars for hours, despite the pollution of light from the nearby city (Mechelen, Belgium). This resulted in “Messierobjekten”. Each track represents a feeling and an image. With this album the concept isn’t over yet because there are loads of other feelings and images.

This album is about bringing closer things / constellations / feelings … that are far away or seem unreachable. The Messierobjects (In Dutch: “Messierobjekten”) are constellations that are several lightyears away from us. But Charles Messier could see them through his simple aperture telescope.

This release was pressed on a limited digipack edition of 300 copy's. You can buy it at Bandcamp. The album is also available on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Deezer, Spotify, etc…

Overdub with Jazzbass for pads. Battel can be an inspiring place, It's placement alongside a large area of Nature makes that in the morning the birds are present in large amounts. it creates a happy feeling. It's my happy place and time.

All sounds made on the Jazzbass. Generative proces used as base. I looped 8 Notes with different lenghts. assigned all tracks to separate volume controls and thus creating harmonies, Major, Minor, ... Overdubs with Jazzbass. 

Fieldrecording made earlier. Hanging out my window to record the rain. Was blessed with a banger of a thunderstorm . Only wished I'd filmed it would make a great video to accompany this track.
