Silicon Scally, the alias of electronic music producer Carl Finlow, released his critically acclaimed album 'Mr Machine' in 2002 on SCSI-AV.  The album was a masterful blend of electro and sci-fi soundscapes, showcasing Finlow's unique style and production prowess, which took the listener on a journey through a futuristic world.  It ranks as one of the finest electro records of the early noughties.

Fast-forward to 2023 and Sync 24's Cultivated Electronics label is proud to present 'Mr Machine PT 2'.  Like its predecessor, it is filled with intricate synth melodies, driving rhythms, and pulsating basslines, all perfectly balanced to create an immersive listening experience.

'Mr Machine PT 2' once again showcases Finlow's ability to not only create relentless beats for the dancefloor but also dynamic soundscapes that transport the listener to another world.  Created using a mixture of both old analog gear and plugins, both albums were written with a very strong emphasis on the machine aesthetic, reflecting the cutting edge of what was available at their respective times.

Troy has been releasing electronic music under aliases like Waverider and Cityboy since the 90s. Recently, he started cooking up fresh new tracks and released an EP on the legendary label Down Low Music. Also, some of his releases from back then are now available on We're Going Back. Bristol-based up-and-comer Joe Litherland - Artist name Litherland - joins Mood Of The Era with Proximan Betrayal, a release that is best described as a cerebral cocktail party of tingling euphoria and emotion.

The 21-year-old British Southwest native might still be considered as a neophyte of sorts in the world of electronic music but recent releases showcase a sophisticated sound that innovatively combines elements from new wave electro, breaks, trance, acid, and techno.

Kicking off the 3-tracker with MOTE Records is Proxima, a goose bump guaranteed, relentless slab of trancey acid and electro house that burrows deep into the listeners subconscious with its sparkling synth patterns, dreamy pads, and fading vocals.

In pursuit of Proxima, is Strife a gargantuan dance floor shredder with its thundery and adrenaline-fuelled acid patterns, backed up by thumping drum work and deep rolling basslines.

Orbital 191 closes the EP with its melancholic and soft ambient soundscapes that are topped with playful percussions and synth patterns that together create a tantalizing journey through space and time.
