This is my set from the Re-opening of Distillery Club Leipzig - warehouse floor – 31.08.2025. Cheers to a bright and fulminant future! I’m honored to have been part of this experience with all my heart and soul.

The set intro “Who We Dance With” is a love letter to dancing and the people who accompany us — to the bold, the wild-hearted, the dreamers, the believers, and the megalomaniacs. It’s all about connection and shared experiences that become never-ending, transformative memories like this. I believe in the power of music and the dancefloor as an expressive home for everybody, equally. 

I wrote the set intro “Who We Dance With” on top of the track “Morning Privilege” by Øyvind Morgen, which will be released very soon. It also contains 4 unreleased tracks of mine that will come out soooooon - plus of course my actually most favorite bangers as well as some historical tracks that made my way.

Podiumsdiskussion mit den Leipziger Kandidaten zur Bundestagswahl zu Themen der Clubkultur

In Vorbereitung auf die diesjährige Bundestagswahl erstellte die LiveKomm, der Bundesverband der Musikspielstätten in Deutschland, Wahlprüfsteine, welche an die im Bundestag vertretenen Parteien versendet wurden, damit diese die Möglichkeit erhielten, sich zu den politischen Forderungen der LiveKomm zu positionieren. Der Forderungskatalog umfasste vier Themenschwerpunkte: Den Kulturraumschutz für Clubs und Festivals, die Abgaben für Kulturbetriebe, die Förderung von Clubs und deren Netzwerken sowie die Gesundheit der Gäste und MitarbeiterInnen.

Die Standpunkte der Parteien wurden gesammelt und unseren Gästen als Informationsübersicht sowie Wahlempfehlungen in Form eines Flyers zur Verfügung gestellt. 

Am Dienstag, den 05.09.2017, hat der Leipziger Ableger des LiveKomm Bundesverbandes die Antworten der Parteien aus der Wahlprüfsteinbefragung in einer Podiumsdiskussion mit anschließender Fragerunde noch einmal vorgestellt. Außerdem gab es für die DiskussionsteilnehmerInnen die Möglichkeit, die Positionen ihrer Parteien zu erläutern und sich im Anschluss Fragen aus dem Publikum zu stellen.

After already dropping one cut on our all-encompassing initial compilation, celebrating 25 years of the club, we're happy to announce Joel Mull's follow up and first solo release on Distillery Records. Mull is an always welcome Tille-regular, one of the most prominent ambassadors of the Swedish Techno sound and a versatile producer that's constantly churning out high profile material since the mid 90ies. 

A cachet that's underpinned by this batch of tunes, kicking off with "Magnetum", an Industrially tinged blend of Techno, building on filtered polyrhythmic elements, a swelling bass and subtly implemented pads. He's going for an arrangement that's eschewing overcomplexity, in order to boost an utmost force on the dance floor.

Next up is "Momentum" that sonically ventures down to even deeper levels of machine room ambience, emitting wafting plumes of bass, being flared by flashes of sawing clangs and pushed forward by a synth-based micro-theme that's wandering through filter-modulations. A massive big room weapon.
"Connected" comes embedded in crackling and rustling soundscapes, but make no mistake, its kickdrum is out to blow off any sonic haze to make way for an Acid theme that slowly emerges from ambush. 

This very tune gets a remix treatment by none other than Mathimidori aka Mathias Kaden who's turning the character of the tune into a rather chilled out, groove accenting, Dub-resonating state of matter.

The digital package then also features "Continuous Symmetry" as a bonus track, that's upping the ante again, yet appears a bit more leftfield in this cycle of Mulls new material.

https://soundcloud.com/schleppgeist has been invigorating Leipzig's scene and sound for quite a while now and with certainty will do even more so with this upcoming, vigorous EP on Distillery Records. He shaped up the opening and lead track "Dust" with so much potential, that he just had to carve out two versions, serving slightly different fields of application. The "Outdoor Mix" incorporates all the essentials of an utmost classy peaktime affair that will apply to the affective dynamics of crowds in larger numbers. Single lasting notes ensnaring micro-percussive patterns, haunted vocals creating somewhat of an emotive song-quality within the track-like arrangement, a break evidently bursting with tension and energy, in short: the maximum in effect, without compromising in style and attitude. The "Indoor Mix" on the other hand highlights rather tribal-esque rhythms and a more subtle and deep quality to the groove, tweaking it for ultimate club-duties.

Following up is "Shiver", a tune that delves into deeper realms, introducing a filtered-in piano-motif that progresses into pure Acid bliss. Toolhouse splendour that surely will send shivers of joy down many spines.  

"Last" opens up yet another sound aesthetic, bringing heavy breaks and a bassline into play that at some point in Techno history would have been considered "Knartz". Comparative minds might even sense some tribute to "Flatbeat" within this mix. At least up until the point, elevating pads add a more romantic notion to the tune.

https://soundcloud.com/chris-manura then finally lays his hands and mind on that very "Last", translating it into a 4/4 scheme, referring to the original's bassline here and there, but in general teasing out a completely different temper that's built on sparkling synths, a straight groove, deep mentality and epic arrangement.
