Multi award winning, decade spanning, film scoring UK electronic duo Hybrid return to this scarred and embattled world with the first single from what will be their sixth studio album (July 2021).

'Flashpoint' doesn't try to hide it's wide screen filmic dynamics, with soaring melodies, trademark thunderous bass and driving synths up front and centre; meanwhile, the rolling breaks that have underpinned the duo's twenty five year career have rarely sounded more current than in today's electronic landscape.

The remix comes from British musician, Harvey Carter aka Tutara Peak. Anyone familiar with Carter's previous works won't be surprised to discover a meditative six minute + musical journey, one that still manages to pack understated, punchy energy amongst reflective auditory pools and abstract, off-trail musical excursions. One to watch.

Charlotte Truman's seemingly effortless delivery of an arena sized song is matched by co partner Mike's steady unfurling of sonic pyrotechnics throughout as 'Nails' builds to a pounding, but never overstated climax, full of melody, scale and ambition.

On the remix front, Armin and Tiesto cohort Solarstone keeps the song structure in place, and melodies to the fore, but adds precision engineered rhythms and swelling builds for maximum summer dancefloor impact.

Third single off the forthcoming Hybrid long player, with the electronic duo's two original mixes combining a soaring song with propulsive 4/4 rhythms and cinematic musical flourishes.

The remix comes from Hospital Records big hitter Metrik, and sounds suspiciously like a summer DnB anthem in the making as he loops and chops up the chorus vocal, pushes the riffs up front and centre, before adding scene setting pads and a fat bottom end / rolling 170bpm beats combo for a big room / big stage banger. Roll on June 21st.

Back in 2006, Wisternoff's unmistakable single was released and now we proudly present a selection of modernised edits (and an updated version from the man himself), ranging from club-focused-acid tinged, to Neo-Disco and spaced out beatless edits.

Kicking off the remix package Jody delivers a banging 2021 updated version.  First up on the new remixes we have Anjunabeats mainstay Oliver Smith, who delivers an uplifting and highly catchy edit. The London based producer ads layers of crystal clear synth melodies that build upon the original melody, enhancing the emotional impact. The track is well balanced between full flavored moments and stripped back minimal parts.

UK based producer Stu Mort raises the tempo, with a rolling club track that morphs the original melody into a acidic  trance version. He includes some stripped back atmospheric breakdowns that take your mind away...

On the flip side we have Belarusian producer Ivanshee, their remix is melodious, bouncy and full on funky. Chillhawk slows things right down with a dreamy ambient version layered with delicate details and fluttering delays.

John Graham, (a.k.a. Quivver) arrives on Distinctive Records for a jaw dropping beast of a single titled 'Roll The Dice'. It is brand new Rock / Electronic hybrid sound for John.  The single also features remixes from the likes of The Time & Space Machine (Richard Norris) and Hat (a duo made up of techno producer Chris Carter and Paul Crossman from Distinctives own General Midi).
 
John Graham began music production in the early 1990s. Originally, he produced and released several darkside jungle singles under the name Skanna. He then established his Quivver project before joining Parks & Wilson to form Tilt.  After several singles and a collaboration with Paul Van Dyk Tilt produced the top UK 20 hit "Invisible".  In 2006, Graham appeared on progressive house/breaks act Hybrid third LP, I Choose Noise as a vocalist and subsequently went on tour with the group. The song “Choke” was dark and moody and was used extensively in Hollywood movie trailers
 
Roll The Dice is a huge Rock / Dance hybrid. It's brazen and assured, with pounding beats and an elevated vocal from the man himself that give the track an understated swagger and real bite. It's already featured Hollywood side.
 
Hat kicks of the remixes with his heavy, motorik Electro rendition, morphing the vocal into a twisted alter-ego and pushing the electronics strong and hard. Richard Norris aka Time & Space Machine is up next, taking the Cosmic route. The breaks still bang, but there's plenty of the T&SM magic floating through.

UK born but now US-based, John Graham’s follows up his debut single (Roll The Dice) with the second single “Something New” from his new album “Cold Sun”. Johns sound is a contemporary indie-rock  electronic crossover with heaps of swagger. “Something New” melds influences such as the Stone Roses, Kasabian, The Cure, Depeche Mode with the sweeping electronic soundscapes.  

First up is the bombastic original, it mixes a rock under beat with thunderous electronic production, dirty distorted basses and wailing guitars.  Add in a dose of sweeping cinematic strings from Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and that all adds up to one big sound.

Next in the package is a real treat for all Electronic Music fans.  Record-label mates Hybrid deliver their first remix in over 2 years.   Hybrid are now busy scoring big budget Hollywood films, their sound is still right on the money however.  They transmute the original into an breakbeat fest with darting rhythms, crunching synths, new vocals and bags of cinematic scope.  

To round off the package we take a trip to Japan where 06R gets busy robotic electro beats, big sweeping strings and pounding basslines.   The package also includes a Hybrid instrumental mix as the last track.

Sonority is the operational alias for the electronic music producer, Live & DJ performer, Jan Hanak. He is from the Czech Republic.  After the recent, well-received "Virtus" single earlier in the year we are pleased to be releasing Jans debut album "Raw".   The album is high on the Distinctive sound with Expansive wide vision, Electronic intrigue and a progressive rhythms.

The album with the brooding electronic sunrise of "Elsewhere" before the vocal house tune of "Inner Child" which features the driving and powerful voice of Pat Fulgoni. "Leaving" carries on the electronic theme this time adding layers of processed vocals.

Recent single Virtus is next which features the real strings from the Prague Symphony Orchestra laid over solid breakbeat core and emotive chord changes.

"Between The Lines" lightens the mood slightly with some upbeat electronic pop.  "Melted" is an offbeat electro interlude before the quirky "Egoless" mixes reggae rhythms and bleepy electronica.

The electronica section of the record comes to a close with the arrival of the driving house beats of "Raw Dist". Big grooves, driving synths and sky-scraping distorted riffs.  "Catharsis" is a refreshing,  uplifting databurst of musicality. As a closing hurrah "Could Be Normal" is a shimmering breakbeat fest of dance floor grooves and layers on the tech house sheen.  We round things off with the closing downtempo electronica of "Going Home".

Overall a refreshing and impressive debut from Jan.

The seven track release comes with a brand new set of remixes.  We open up with a brand new version from Hybrid themselves. The Hybrid "Fake Euros Remix" strips back the melodic song structures of the original and goes straight for the breakbeat, hi-energy jugular.  Darting arpeggios, crunching beats and the even occasional rap make this one a real treat.

As a final hurrah from Hybrid's fifth album, 'Light Of The Fearless' comes a new remix package of the foot-stomping track, Superpower. The duo's successful 2018 album, combined emotionally powered cinematic pieces with astute, intricate and intelligent electronic production. Over the years the band have not only releases 5 albums they have also expanded their ever growing body of film score work (Fast and Furious 8, Interlude In Prague, Hercules, Dead in Tombstone, Take Down, Luther, X-men, Deja 'Vu).

Using Superpower as the main point of inspiration, 2 alternate versions and 3 remixes have been created for this release. Brooding atmospheres build as first remix from Our Empire commences, until the bass line erupts... Our Empire, AKA Future Funk Squad delivers a high impact remix with twisted baselines, evolving synth arpeggios, fluttering sirens. The slamming break-beats are juxtaposed with moments of delicate and detailed atmospheres combined with powerful vocals that delay across the stereo field. This remix is full of modulating sound design and interesting twists and turns. A instrumental edit is also included in the release.

On the flip side, Chillhawk's Ambient Version takes a difference stance, merging dreamy electronica with the superb vocals from Charlotte. Ever evolving and drifting through different spaces, this track keep the listener engaged throughout the journey. Ethereal pads, intricate melodies and FM synth tones, combined create an interesting sound pallet.

Also included in this release are orchestral and beatless versions produced by Hybrid. Opening up with deep brooding strings, this cinematic edit was created by the Prague philharmonic Orchestra. This shortened version encompasses a string quartet and brass section that later develops, building in intensity. Similar to the original track, the Beatless Edit provides the listener a softer edit without the main drum sections. Smooth and subtle sound design has been introduced to help the fluidity of the track.
