German/Mauritian techno-DJ and producer https://soundcloud.com/hardtrax discovered electronic underground music as a passion for himself at the age of eleven, before he began with his first experiencies in producing techno-music as a teenager back in 1997. At that time, he used tracker software on Amiga computers to produce various tracks in different styles of music ranging from techno, to deep house, acid, tech-house, trance, ambient, jungle and hardcore. Then, after a two-years-break he focussed on producing hard underground techno tunes and occasionally composing hardcore tracks. In 2001 he met Jackhamma and in 2002 they started producing together and have been performing live on several locations in Germany as the genre's first live-PA duo named “HardtraX vs. Jackhamma”. This was the decisive period of time in which HardtraX came up with his own individual kind of rough and sinister techno-sound.

HardtraX began to shape dark hardtechno as a sub-genre of the early German hardtechno or Schranz-movement at the beginning of the 2000s, drawing influences from both groovy techno-sounds as well as from more industrial-sounding hardcore-techno. After having released some of his hardtechno-tracks and remixes on 12 inch vinyl-records through various imprints like Plug’n’Play Records, Distorted Records and the likes, HardtraX teamed up with Jackhamma to found their own label “Dark Force Recordings” in 2003 as a platform for their numerous hard, dark and straight-forward techno-tracks. Their first record on Dark Force Recordings hit the shelves in late 2003 with the title “Evil Frequencies”, and the record perfectly reflects HardtraX' and Jackhamma's hard-hitting, yet atmospheric, twisted and kicking technostyle.

The following releases were also used to promote other artists and new talents in order to show the complexity and diversity of their preferred styles of techno music, and were sold not only in Europe, but also in Asia, Australia, Africa and North and South America. The raw sounds created by HardtraX have been pressed onto vinyl-records through many different, major hardtechno-labels of the time (for e.g. Artillery Records, Tool Terror, Cannibal Society Records, Matame Records, Crowbar Records, Friendly Fire Records, Methadon Records etc.). Moreover, the artist performed solo DJ-gigs, as well as live-appearances along with Jackhamma in several locations in Germany and abroad (Colombia, Lithuania, France, USA, Malta, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Croatia, Ukraine, Belgium, Netherlands, Venezuela etc.).

HardtraX has released several dark hardtechno albums over the course of time ("What I Stand For Speaks For Itself", "The Advocate Of Hate", "Fuel My Temper", "Ballet Of Aggressions", "Rude And Direct", "The Dark Omen", "Bass Creator"...) and still provides a high output of productions today. He nowadays furthermore continues with both solo DJ-performances and live-performances along with his friend Jackhamma, and the duo even celebrated their 15th year of live-performances with a limited edition golden CD-release entitled "Mean! Hard! Dark! - 15 Years Of HardtraX vs. Jackhamma" in 2017, containing some of their most memorable works.

Like HardtraX mentioned in his 2008 TV-interview for the Colombian national television "Canal Uno", and in numerous written interviews for web-portals like for e.g. "The Harder View" (Australia), "NGOHT" (Hungary), "AMMO" (Lithuania) or "CCPAR" (Colombia), the artist takes his energy to continue producing dark hardtechno music through the support of his listeners, as they never fail to motivate him and fuel his passion for this non-mainstream techno-genre.

Hello, I am LOOCEE Ø, I am a young artist from a small town near Barcelona.
My first contact with a controller was at 14 years old as my older brother dedicated himself to it. Little by little I was discovering more musical genres. I started with more commercial techno and moved towards less and less known genres such as industrial techno. My style is inspired by great artists like: Plexos, Flozy, STX, Ørgie, Paramod. With very hard and forceful kicks and high BPM.
As we cannot go to parties right now, this past 2020 I started in the world of production and in less than a year I got to release songs with labels such as: PureHate, Industrialized, Critical Revolution, Dead End, and some more. that I have pending launch ...
A couple of months ago I signed my first contract with  Critical Revolution label which I am very happy to be a part, I hope little by little to learn and grow within this world. Let's see how things progress in the future.

Distortion is complexity, distortion is life. It is that passion for life that fuels the artistic endeavors of Dennis Jacobs aka Sacerdos Vigilia, Dutch DJ and producer who has earned himself a ton of respect since he put out his debut EP in 2013. Drawing his inspiration from the trailblazers of the industrial hardcore sound, he has become one himself, with a trademark knack for distortion – often spiced up with more distortion. And yet, he always has in mind the entertainment factor, which he displays in full when he’s in the DJ booth: You will be hard-pressed finding anyone who authentically enjoys himself so much playing to a crowd.

2020 proved to be a milestone year, with two very different full length albums being released on Meta4 and Traumatic, the latter featuring a string of collaborations with artists who have inspired, accompanied and supported him: Rude Awakening aka Promo, Ophidian, Armageddon Project, Demanufacturer and Cubic Nomad among others.

The Sacerdos Vigilia sound has a perfectionist edge and moves freely between the genre boundaries of industrial hardcore and techno, doom and darkcore. Regularly, his tracks also display a very developed sense of humor, which is a unique juxtaposition. The future is open wide, with a musical creativity that has shaken off all boundaries already. There are plenty stories waiting to be distorted!

Elusive is the alias of Gorka, a resident of Logroño, La Rioja, with over 10 years of experience in the DJ booths of clubs in the northern region of Spain. He has performed as a guest DJ and organized parties for his former collective, Rebels, sharing the stage with renowned techno artists such as Tensal, Joefarr, Cristal Geometry, Adriana Lopez, Ricardo Garduno, and more.

During his travels as a clubber across Europe, he was heavily influenced by the harder and more industrial sounds of techno and hardcore. Simultaneously, he was involved in and acquainted with the free party culture in Spain and Europe.

As a producer (recently), he contributed one track to the new vinyl release by #Ketapasando, with whom he has also released a solo EP in digital format.

He has prepared a special DJ set featuring records from the Enzyme label and its sublabels, primarily focusing on the B-sides, aiming to capture the industrial sound of Dutch hardcore from the '00s era.

Born amidst the bloodiest civil war in Guatemala and currently based in Montreal, Canada, this Latino-Canadian producer/dj Viktor Reynosa aka CZN (pronounced see-zin) has taken a nihilistic approach in their productions and sets only to recreate sheer brutal sonic representation of it’s origin while being highly influenced by some of their favourite bands (early Slipknot, Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, NIN) and those classic horror movie flicks (Friday the 13th, Halloween, Saw, Exorcist) that forged the style of music they create.

Distortion Podcast LXXVII with Miyuki Omura

The Spanish artist, currently based in London, began his DJ journey in 2013 while living in northern Spain. His adventure started by performing in local clubs and organizing underground raves. In his early years, his sets were deeply rooted in dark techno and electro, gradually evolving into a harder, darker, and faster sound. Over time, he has built an extensive and refined music library that reflects his evolution as a meticulous and passionate selector.

In 2018, he adopted the alias The Slaughter, shifting his focus toward the harder spectrums of dance music. Industrial Hardcore soon became his signature sound — drawn to its raw intensity, aggression, and emotional depth. His debut performance as The Slaughter took place at Jaded, Corsica Studios in October 2019. Soon after, he founded Distortion Recordings pushing the underground scene through a consistent podcast series and collaborations with international collectives and artists.

In parallel, he pursued a Sound Engineering and Music Production degree at the London College of Contemporary Music, further refining his technical and creative skills.

Since 2024, The Slaughter has been a resident artist on Toxic Sickness Radio, where he runs his own show as well as “The Slaughter Invites” — a platform dedicated to showcasing underground Spanish hardcore talent. He is also a resident DJ at This Thing of Ours in London.

His latest releases on Doomcore Records and Noisj continue to expand his footprint in the global underground scene.

His style can be traced back to the industrial scene taking big inspirations from labels such as PRSPCT and Death Chant. He himself is up and coming artist and has a few releases behind his name on labels such as Dusk Records.

The Slaughter - Yossef Chahid Diez - was born in 8th April 1995 in Logroño , Spain.
Where he started his passion for music at a very young age playing at clubs and organising raves as well as events to push the scene in the north of Spain.
He left for London in 2017 in search of knowledge and musical experience .
Did his first gig in London few months after arriving in the city.
Played in Corsica Studios and Grow Tottenham - London - last autumn.
During 2019 he created Distortion Podcast .
Focused on the industrial pounding and rave music styles.
Influenced by artists such as Hypnoskull , Krtm , Manu Le Malin , Ophidian , Strange Arrival , Marc Arcadipane..
Since then , his musical spectrum has extended within the hard hitting electronic music.
