The story behind this track encompasses what it means to be reminiscent of things lost - to be  appreciative of the time spent with our loved ones - and to let go of the anxieties of the world and just dance.
This is my first track without vocals as the story is yours to paint while listening

need to leave District 13. This city I once called

home no longer feels safe. From the days we would 

spend roaming the different Sectors - to the nights 

we stayed up till sun rise talking about our dreams… 

these will always be my favorite memories. Although

our letters became scarce and our words began to 

hurt, my love for you never faded. I am terrified to 

leave this city and even more afraid to stay. I can’t 

look back at the life I once had, I can only look for-

ward to the life I am going to live. Goodbye mariam, I

Wait, so its all just cake? yes, Dubstep is cake.... Oh, that was yummy. who knew Dubstep could be so delicious. District 13 - CAKESTEP

Hailing from the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona, District 13 has had one motive as he continues to produce his music; to create a cerebral experience for listeners to escape their own realities. District 13 found his calling when he first saw RL Grime and Odesza back in 2016, listening to the thick sub-bass and beautiful melodies. He wanted to blend those components and add his own heavier flair to make the signature District 13 sound. The District 13 project was brought to life in 2018, this self-taught artist has gone on to play at festivals such as Gold Rush Music Festival 2021, Decadence Arizona 2021, Phoenix Lights 2022, Full Moon Festival, and Disciple: a POD Concert Experience. District 13 has gained traction from his recent releases including “EYES”, “Devil”, and “SPARTA.” “SPARTA” is regarded as District 13’s number one release to date with support from major influencers and over 70k reels on Instagram. Beyond his releases, District 13 has had the opportunity to enhance his resume playing support for artists such as ATLiens, Funtcase, Marauda, Virtual Riot, HE$H, Riot Ten, and PhaseOne. As District 13 continues his music career, he wants listeners to consider one phrase “A Kid in the Apocalypse.” Stating “We are all very much still kids on the inside trying to navigate our personal apocalypses.” Many people are looking to escape or to be released from the stressors of life and found a goal for these people to find shelter inside of his work.
