SINFUL MAZE brings you the 3rd part continuing with the trilogy of the Various Artists Compilation lore, the last and the biggest. In the wake of the first “Infinite Impact” and the following  “Assembly Assault” exploring all the unknown producers from all around the globe, this series comes to its end with the final epos titled “Outer Operators”.

Scruggs & Sonny Jim had ridden long since dealing the final blow to the plantoid behemoth that had first impeded their journey some many months ago. They had left that beast’s lair far behind, and happily so for the stench of commingled acrid sap and gunpowder that filled it once the pair had finished. Astonished by the wonders of this alien land, their journey had lead them through biomes never before seen, in which red rock sandstone bore forth soaring forests filled with idyllic glens and treacherous thickets alike. Through these, they had climbed in an ascent to a high plateau, and it was at this peak that the pair saw a sight unrivaled by any in their journey thus far.

Rising above the forest that continued onwards below was a great stone structure of peaks and turrets, connected by a network of bridges that hung precariously over the ravines and canyons of the mountainside upon which it was built. The building’s spires rose to a height of such impractical grandiosity that the pair wondered what the purpose of such a structure could be or, more than likely, could have been. For all of the stature that it had certainly once commanded, the building was a shell of its former self, a relic of unique hubris worn bare by the selfsame forces that allowed the forest beneath it to thrive. No light shone from its windows and no figures stood atop its balconies, for whatever cataclysm had befallen its creators had driven them from this place long ago. All of these thoughts passed through Scrugg’s mind as he gazed upwards, and to synthesize them he asked a single question of his partner, Sonny Jim.

“Hey, Sonny Jim,”
“Yeah Scruggs?”
“Why the hell would you bother hauling rocks all the way up there?”

With nothing but a grunt and a shrug in response, Sonny Jim spurred his horse onwards, and the two resumed their journey, riding into the shadow cast by the great castle that lay above.

BURR OAK drive the EATBRAIN horde into the shadowed depths of their latest EP, DARK AGE, the latest from the duo, and a follow up to their previous releases Roots of Evil & Hawkeye on the label. Within, the duo unleashes six tracks stacked with aggressive tonalities and futuristic textures that unveil the latest in the sonic tale of these twin bassline masterminds.

Joe Ford X KNARS 'Unforgiven' [Evolution Chamber]

Mitch, originally from Jersey, got his start at just 14 when he picked up his first copy of FL Studio. It didn't take long for him to develop a real passion for music production. Thanks to some influence from his friends, he soon stumbled upon Drum & Bass, and as soon as he got a taste of the fast-paced, technical side of the genre, he knew he had to dive in and start creating his own tracks. This love for the technical side of music eventually brought Mitch to London, where he took music production more seriously. It was there that he first took on the stage name Asylum, before later evolving into Xylym, as we know him today.

In recent years, Xylym has been making waves with a series of Neurofunk releases on some of the biggest Drum & Bass labels like Close 2 Death, Blackout, Hoofbeats, and Neuroheadz. Most recently, he landed his first solo EP on the legendary 'Eatbrain'. But before he unleashes another round of hard-hitting Neurofunk, he's kicking off the summer with a bit of a curveball—his upcoming single 'Love the Freak' on Hoofbeats. This one's a more melodic dancefloor track, showing off his versatility as a producer. Make sure to keep an eye on Xylym as he continues to push boundaries and make his mark in the Drum & Bass scene.

Bad Taste Recordings hits 2016 in severe kinetic style with a fresh pair of tracks launching the identity of MALUX, the new Neurofunk-focussed moniker of established bass producer SKOPE (Inspected, Technique Recordings). 
With “Turbine” and “Fonk” the agenda is clear-energetic, funk-fuelled DnB driven by detailed low-frequency design and a boisterous rave vibe.
TURBINE carries with it a stripped aesthetic, with a percussive pattern driven by the snare and wonky plucked synth work. This is heads-down, bassface material for ravers to get into step to.
FONK on the flip hits a cheeky upbeat tone, switching slickly between bass textures punctuated by staccato sonic fragments.
With support from scene titans such as Andy C, The Upbeats and radio play from Friction on BBC R1 and Crissy Criss on Kiss FM, Malux has immediately caught the attention of those who know.
Bad Taste hits the nail on the head again, introducing another name with a big destiny into the halls of Drum & Bass.
