Rainforest raves meet clattering tribal rhythms in the dense lush undergrowth, whilst futuristic tech is overgrown with the fertile 
vines.

Crabitation

A track that drives you through the streets of Venezuela, with the sounds of Tambores de Choronì, recorded by Stefano Greco. "Traditional sounds and in-situ recordings from these navigated locations are amplified and given a House, Psy-Trance and Techno spin. Rainforest raves meet clattering tribal rhythms in the dense lush undergrowth, whilst futuristic tech is overgrown with the fertile vines. 

Chuao Chuao

"Agartala" is a journey through Indian sounds, colors, and polyrhythms that meet electronic club beats. Resonating strings meet the tabla, dancefloor rhythms, drum machines, and synths for an ecstatic dance. "Agartala" opens the "Indian collection" of singles  that will be released in the coming months of 2024.

Distropical is a duo of electronic producers and DJs from Milan, consisting of Govind Singh Khurana and Stefano Greco. Distropical's music explores various facets of world music. It seeks the raw and vital energy of field recordings and transfers it into electronic productions, where the two elements are in constant dialogue and exchange.

In their DJ sets, original tracks alternate with exclusive edits, creating a unique experience.

Distropical has released several singles from 2024, compiled in the EP "Jaguarundi." Various tracks have been selected for editorial playlists and reached 100,000 streams, played by several DJs worldwide.


Agartala

Distropical, the Milan-based duo of producers and DJs Stefano Greco and Govind Singh Khurana, returns with a new single that deepens their exploration of electronic music fused with global sounds, particularly through field recordings, while incorporating fresh new elements.
"Independent Cricket League" is the second single in the Indian series, following "Agartala," but this time no trips or rare record samples were needed.
The sonic research starts in their own city, during a cricket tournament played in a suburban park by Sri Lankan immigrant communities, on an improvised yet perfectly self-organized field, complete with a speaker passionately narrating the match, similar to professional radio or TV commentators. The commentary is so intense that it provides interesting rhythmic cues, almost like a Jamaican MC in a dancehall.
This sample, along with the ambient sounds of the match, forms a key element of the track.
The fusion, however, doesn’t stop here, as two guest artists with very different musical backgrounds and experiences took part in the recording. The electronic part is the result of a session recorded in a single take with Jack Bags, producer and DJ, who used a Roland 808 and a Sherman Filterbank. Added to this is the sound of the riq, a frame drum from the Arab and Middle Eastern tradition, played by Lorenzo D’Erasmo, one of the foremost experts in medieval and Arab percussion.
"Independent Cricket League" is also released in an extended version, where the club soul and groove are further enhanced in a continuous dialogue between sample, Roland 808, and live percussion.
