Certain sounds tend to evoke certain emotions within us. From our countless conversations with our favorite melodic producers we know that emotions are the center of their work, may it be by expressing their emotions in their music or facilitating emotional journeys through their DJ-sets. CHROMA is an artistic experiment to further explore the link between music and emotions. We asked 10 of our favorite producers to create a track based on a certain emotion. Each EP of the five CHROMA EPs is dedicated to one emotion and contains two tracks by two different artists. Do you feel what we feel?

The most fleeting of all emotions, surprise is a curious phenomenon. It’s a sudden shift, out of the expected and into the unknown. A shift that touches our beings and brings us into alert presence, out of routine and right into the new.

Surprise! Our third CHROMA EP will be all about the most fleeting of all emotions.
This EP is probably the one we were the most curious for, given the limitless possibilities of interpreting the emotion surprise. We couldn’t be happier with what the amazing artists we’ve been working with for this EP came up with and can’t wait to release it into the world this Friday.

If there would be one statement to describe Maurice Kaar’s approach to his releases it probably would be “quality over quantity”. The Wiesbaden-based vocalist and producer caught our attention with amazing productions like ‘Aeon’ and ‘Holy Ground’ and we couldn’t be happier to now work with him on the concept of CHROMA.

The second artist for the ‘surprise’ EP is a surprise himself. @timler_music is the freshly born side-project of Lunatique - who you might remember from his release ‘The Anthem’ from last year. Now fully embracing the underground sound, he’s back on our label with his personal interpretation of the emotion ‘surprise’.

The art of music has touched the hearts of human beings around the planet for thousands of years. It's a universal language with the ability to express what can't be expressed through words or thought. It can induce strong emotions, alter our states of consciousness and let us experience reality in a different way. It can draw us into the present moment, where just the music exists - unfolding through time, moment by moment. When we let go and merge into the auditory sensations, it takes us on an inner journey. Using this not to escape, but to fully embrace reality as it is, music can help us release tensions and bring balance to our everyday life. 
Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.
