ST-ahler aims to spread joy through creating spacy and floating disco soundscapes. Moving from Singapore to Berlin in 2014 “cosmos-politan” ST-ahler discovered the decks in an escalated night of spaceships and zero gravity.

Sync on or off?
"Sync is mostly on. For me the whole discussion about the realness of DJing with or without sync is nonsense. It is not about a particular button you press. If you move a crowd you win, no matter what." 

How would you describe your approach to Social Media as an artist?
"I don’t follow a specific approach on social media for showcasing myself only as an artist. I try to mix all layers and interests of my life on my channels from Instagram to Linkedin. Especially because I work in digital marketing as my main job I play around a lot with new ideas, formats and contents. For me it is crucial to be as authentic as possible while not taking myself too seriously."

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
"Last year I played Gumm’s edit of Kim Wilde’s “Keep me hangin’ on” in nearly every set. I love the 80s and this track is a crowd pleaser every single time! Favorite release of all times is a tough one. An album that changed my view on music significantly was “Music for the jilted generation” from the Prodigy. Its style, crunch and rawness blew me away!"

Die Natur befriedet meinen Verstand und meine Seele. Ich kann durchatmen und loslassen. Die alles erdrückende Dunkelheit weicht langsam zurück und Wärme steigt in mir auf. Beflügelt durch diese Energie gleite ich durch den Wald. Nur langsam dringen wieder die ersten Gedanken zu mir durch. Dieses Mal verbreiten sie jedoch Zuversicht und sogar Freude. Der Antreiber dieser aufkeimenden Hoffnung ist der Viervierteltakt, der aus meinen Kopfhörern trommelt. Es sind die Rhythmen und Melodien, die mich wieder voranbringen. Mein alter Freund, die Musik, ist wieder zurück in meiner Gedankenwelt und das fühlt sich verdammt gut an. Erst jetzt fällt mir auf, wie sehr dieses elementare Stück meines Lebens in den Hintergrund gerückt ist. Die ganzen Ereignisse haben mich so vereinnahmt, dass ich die Musik nicht mehr fühlen konnte. Doch jetzt kämpft sie sich Beat für Beat wieder zurück und verströmt ihre ursprüngliche Magie.  

Wir freuen uns euch heute Annett Gapstream präsentieren zu dürfen. Die Energie, die sie auf den Tanzflächen dieser Welt entfesselt sucht ihresgleichen. There is no box into which you must fit in because you are free in your mind to do whatever you love. Being real, being authentc, being a full tme music lover. That means: go to bed and wake up with only music in your head. About the mix, oh... a bit difficult to write about. I mean its a studio mix, so its different from live mixes which I'm performing in the clubs, so usually a bit slower and more focus on storytelling than clubbing/peak time. So the mix is about my current favourites, tracks from my label and some of my upcoming album tracks.

Not only the aspiring era of electronic music in the 90s, but also the passion for electronic sounds guided his way behind the domestic decks early on. 

The fire of a deep relationship with electronic music has definitely been boosted by this. So it should not take long before the passion for mixing and djing led to various own party series as well as to a residency in a club in his city of birth Göttin- gen. Other stations followed, such as a weekly show at the online radio We-love-house.fm, or various gigs, for example in the legendary Stammheim Kassel, the Warehouse in Cologne or the Juicy- Beats Festival in Dortmund. In his adopted hometown Hamburg, Herr Oppermann is a regular act in the local clubs of the city as well as a host of the Hamburg-based podcast series „Klangextase“.

As a DJ, Herr Oppermann transforms his dedication to music to the audience, combining classic and modern elements of electronic music. His style describes a varied journey between deep,minimalist elements and Tech–House, turning each of his sets into a journey of sound with a lot of variety.

With his releases on Tach & Nacht and Amber Recordings, he also shows his producer qualities by transferring his close relationship with electronic music into melodic tech house tracks.

An eventful year is coming to an end. We have reached many milestones with our podcast series and our record label. In addition, we could finally continue our own event series and invited many friends to play in our living room. An absolute highlight was our summer tour with gigs in Gran Canaria and Thailand. The art of music has touched the hearts of human beings around the planet for thousands of years. Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.
