Radio Silence

This is another one off my concept album project with Ric Dennis Recording.  This is a dramatic piece with an unconventional song form: A-B-C-D-C-E. 
The concept for this song is: singer copes (unsuccessfully) with an unwanted breakup and descends into madness.

We were going for big symphonic metal sound but once we started working with it in the studio, our choice of available guitarists changed, and with that, the feel of the music.

I wrote this one when I wanted a job that--while I could do it, I lacked credentials. My plea to the gods.

Concept:  recognizing opportunities, demanding support for change from the universe.

This is from a music project I did a while back (Painchant). I'd been writing for a while but this was one of the first I wrote without any attempt at humor. I tried to convey a sense of not -quite- being able to break free through the chord progression as well as the words.

Concept: Being stuck and hating yourself for it.

Absolution

I don't know how to forgive myself
For letting you come and go, and come and go, and come and go.
It never fails--about the time 
I rearrange my life, I'm feeling strong and not...ambivilent

I once had a 1999 Dodge custom van, V6 full interior sound and towing package. Beautiful touring car! Big! Gorgeous interior and people never tried to cut me off when I drove it (they tended to scatter). I adored that beast. But then it started needing things...soon it was like having "that boyfriend".

Concept: I love my van but he doesn't love me.

I say "I got to get to work!" but he just shakes and coughs
