Rose Ringed EP17

Rose is back with a new EP on his label Closed Eyes Recordings. With three intense tracks which travel from dark to uplifting melodic techno. The EP’s story is about our society slowly becoming more and more focused on the individual which makes people more insecure, stressed, and in need of some kind of savior.

The first track named Relieve me has a strong bottom end and a vocal that preaches in Latin. The track has a dark feeling with a strong aggressive mid lead sound which catches your attention immediately. Rose: “When I played this the first time I was amazed by the crowd's reaction to the breakdown, originally it did not have the Latin speaking preacher in there but to me, the track missed something to tell the story. When I added that Latin speaking vocal back in the studio the track finally came together"

The second track named Save me was produced most recently and starts with an addictive tom groove leading up to a big Reese base and stabbed chords that instantly lift your mood. The big breakdown is a true classic rose-ringed hands in the air moment, the beautiful chord progression takes you into a new dimension before the hook hits again. Rose: “This track was inspired by the tendency that people can have of needing something external to make oneself happy or healed again, I played it at marktkantine and noticed how it changes the mood to a more open and euphoric mood when I play it. 

The last track named Help me is truly one of a kind, it doesn’t follow one key but changes the whole key up and down. It leaves you with a feeling of constant tension which never seems to resolve. The enormous stabs and strings make this a perfect big room festival track. Rose: “This one came together in a very creative way of arranging, I had all clips lined up and came up with the idea to change the pitch of all the instruments - except the drums - during my live arrangement. You can see the original recording moment on my Instagram reels. The track was inspired by the feeling of being chased by troubles and the urge for it to end.”

This Tel Aviv based imprint is seemingly growing into a monster of a label, with DJ's literally clambering to get their hands on the latest tracks.

Label boss Kadosh hosting Faide to deliver the ‘Matanot’ EP on the infamous Frau Blau label.

We are treated to five slabs of musical goodness here, so starting with the title track itself 'Matanot', A hypnotic and layered deep driver with a percussive and tribal twang, all wrapped up with an unusual top line that motors through the vibe.

First up on remix duties are Zombies In Miami, fresh from releasing on Kompakt, Running Back and Permanent Vacation with a super cool melodious workout, oozing of coolness and an underlying drive, this is a tasty re-tweak.

‘Nelam’ (Remastered) follows swiftly on, delivering a moody and sophisticated building deep affair, locking you into its magical spell, as it meanders through a trippy and cosmic edged soundscape. Uber cool.

Next up, and making quite a splash lately is the respected Man Power remix. With his music gracing Life & Death, Correspondant and Hivern Discs, he is hot property. This remix proves why, with its super cool deep voyage of undulating vibes cascading effortlessly, while we are treated to a deep and trippy viber.

Kadosh supplies 'LX' to round things off, with its retro stabs but wobbly slant, this is a timeless piece of grooviness. Big and bold.

Incoming! Here we have a full premiere of a brand new remix from the UK's very own Maxxi Soundsystem. The south coast star has lent his talents to many a remix and edit in the past and now turns his attention to a track from San Francisco trio PillowTalk and we've managed to acquire the exclusive premiere ahead of its release next week!

Maxxi's remix is part of a special free package of reworked tracks from PillowTalk's excellent Je Ne Sais Quoi album, which was released last year. he gets stuck in to 'We All Have Rhythm' with aplomb, giving a good re-rub with plenty of vigour and funk. We spoke to PillowTalk's own Sammy D to get his opinion on the remix and here's what he had to say about it: "We're incredibly thrilled to have the man Maxxi Soundsystem remix 'We All Have Rhythm', hands down our favorite tune off our album Je Ne Se Quoi. Maxxi beefs it up for some serious club play by stripping away the melancholy pop appeal allowing him to take aim straight at the dance floor.  Hypezone City, sweat on the walls... 10 out of 10 banger alert!!".
