Disco Mind is a young but already standout label and now it is back with Feijão Amigo, another must-have EP featuring Brazilian gems expertly reworked by two of Brazil's top edit maestros in Joutro Mundo and Bernardo Pinheiro. Pinheiro kicks off with 'Fogo' which is big on funk and brass and perfect for peak time, while his second cut 'Diga Amor' is a lively rework guaranteed to move you. On the flip, Mundo offers 'Santos Da Guine' which has been sourced from an ultra-rare record and elevated by a subtle touch-up. The EP closes with 'Dia Lindo' which is a collaboration between Joutro Mundo and Pasternak and is full of sunshine, funk and bold hooks.

Many of these are hard to find and expensive in original format and with their groovy magic and floor filling delights are well worth having.

This collection of rare club music, cut to a DJ-friendly template focusses in on the eye of the 70's club storm, the tracks instantly transport you back to a NYC of steaming sidewalks and liberated fire hydrants. These are immaculately crafted songs, delivered with smooth confidence arranged with plenty of instrumental grooving - and blissful, elongated heavy disco-funk, underground gospel disco, quirky grooves an underground jamz from back in the day. 

This sweat-soaked delightfully analogue and retro jazz-funk disco heaviness comes with upbeat, accessible tunes come with modern soul and lots of lovely frills.

So many of these are set to become classics it's pointless picking a favourite - A superb collection of timeless sounds.

Lorraine Johnson - Feed The Flame (Pimpin Willie Dynomite Groovestrumental Mix)

Two very solid cuts here from St Petersburg, a producer you suspect gets up in the morning and knocks out three decent disco jams before most of us have finished our coffee. In the red corner we have 'Cherry Funk' itself, a midtempo nu-disco/boogie/funk gem with wistful male vocal snips, Rhodes squiggles and lush chords. In the blue corner, meanwhile, 'Let It Go' is a warm-up friendly affair in which barely-there snippets of crowd chatter eventually cede space to an R&B-ish female vocal, with both sitting atop an unhurried, luxurious, lounge-y backdrop. Now you just need a poolside and some sunshine!
