Coming up with his first own EP. Including a dancefloorfunk remix by his Berlin mates from SESSION VICTIM.

Kapote is doing house music, but influenced by rare Funk and Soul music. Or better said: by the mid 1990ies wave of filter house and the French touch. He likes the black American scene around Paul Johnson or the tracks on Detroit's Red Planet label (The Martian!!). But also French people like la Funk Mob, Gilbert, The early Super Discount stuff.. The days when it was all about finding the ultra rare, but ultra effective samples and  using it in a clever and very musical way. Creating a new groove, something that flows with a big bunch of Soul.
Kapote does this... and he has the old vinyls and he has the right machines to make them swing in a new way. Check out Kapote.

Lagaffe Tales continue their impressive vinyl releases with an all-star European line up. The Icelandic label are again about to fill your eardrums with an array of house tracks. Out 12th of May on Lagaffe Tales.

Rolling out first and now playing ball on his home-court, Dirt Crew newcomer Felix Leifur introduces the sampler. “Eitt” comes soaked in soul and deadly stabs. His unique flavour is permeated all over this dancefloor filler. As weird and wonky as Felix gets, this one just about tops it. Twisting minds with his wizardry since his first release and by the sounds of this track, he has no plans to slow down. 

The second track on the EP comes from German duo, Coeo. This track will evoke the familiar 6am sunrise in this carefree deep club cut. “Clouds” has hard hitting drums that are infused in the soft piano riff creeping in and out accompanied by other hypnotic sounds. Caution! A journey into a deep state of dreamland awaits... 

The theme of European imports continues, this time Vienna based main man, Mooney Me lends his talents to the Icelandic label. His gift is “Soul”. With captivating percussion, a mean ass bassline all melded together with ethereal melodic chimes. A groove that will make any basement sweat out their worries. 

Rounding off is Swedish newcomer, Sune. If you’re looking for a groove that will get your body bouncing and leave a wide smile on your face, you’ve found it! His input is “I’ll Be Right Back” .a serious peak time mover! This cut of the legendary “Roy Ayers - The Golden Rod” supplies the floor with a deep disco vibe. Horns are in full swing with this one and are welcomed with some infectious high piano. This will have your hands in the Ayer within seconds.

FINA Records was established in 2011, originally as an offshoot for Ralph Lawson's 2020 Vision label. Three years into that tenure, the partnership ended with both parties looking to focus on their own imprints full time. The identity that FINA has crafted for itself is one that's hard to put a finger on, as their releases encompass a fairly wide range. Not pigeonholing themselves into one style they do manage to have a common factor connecting their music and that is strong melodic undertones. Whether it's a fairly downtempo tune or a more straightforward house jam, there is always an inherently musical nature to their output.

Saine (soundcloud), a Helsinki-based producer who has somehow managed to fly (somewhat) under the radar for years, even with his consistent quality, is a perfect fit for the aforementioned unquantifiable character that FINA has established for itself. His loose and smokey, organic sound filled with obscure samples has landed him releases on some fantastic record labels, such as an EP on the now discontinued Sleazy Beats Black Ops and an excellent mini-LP on Fools & Fables Recordings. The Finnish musician's latest is called "Mint EP" and it features three stellar cuts.

Today's premiere and the A1 'Technique' doesn't stray from what we've come to expect from Saine. Muted keys set the tone as a looped guitar rhythm and understated bass form the foundation of the groove. Crisp yet slightly hazy drums are in support with shaker patterns fluttering throughout. A second guitar sample plays call and response with a held vocal note while a male voice croons an unintelligible phrase. Sampled rhodes-like bleeps doodle throughout the first half when the vocals aren't present, taking centre stage during the mini-break. The various instruments and samples are elegantly filtered in and out while oscillating atmospheric noises help create a sense of motion. The Finnish sampling maestro is once again able to bring forth another must-have record and the good news is that it will be released in just a couple of days!

For one of such royal heritage he lived a life far from the realms of luxury one might expect him to be accustomed to. The hole in the king's sock grew wider and wider each day as he trudged wearily through the forest, he cared not for gold and palaces but for the sweet essence of nature and the outdoors. Many had criticised his role within such mighty authority whilst others admired his humble reluctance towards the spotlight. For they cared not for the crown, the politics and it's reign but sought sweet freedom from its perilous clutches. 

Flexi Cuts are set to release their second EP in the form of a five track split. They invite a number of new found friends on to the label for the very first time.

Time for something sexxxxy and spacyyyy from the secret underground house area. Gnork and Luv*Jam have been working together for more than 5-6 years now, doing lots of gigs, remixes, collaborative EPs, appearing on various compilations. They have always worked a little bit more than what they let us think, accumulating tons of unreleased gems. The time has come to reveal some hidden goodies and we're proud to be premiering one of these secret blorpers from their new EP 'Bonus Blorps', out on Crow Castle Cuts.

The original Blorp93 yellow vinyl surfaced in 2013 and was championed by the likes of RVDS, Bradley Zero, DVS1 and Wolf Music. Since this time, there have been a few secret cuts floating around here and there, some of which lots of people were 'demanding' to be pressed.
