For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @aurelieschleger to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

Originally from the French Alps, to then establish herself in the province of Quebec, Canada, in the early 90s, it is in Montreal that was born her interest in the techno scene and the art of Djing and mixing vinyl records in 2005, by her own. Today, she’s still a big fan of vinyl records!
Self-taught in this field, thanks to her perseverance and her perpetual curiosity, it is in the Montreal nightlife and underground raves since 2006, played under her old alias ‘’Lill Unseen’’ until 2013, she skillfully demonstrates her personality with techno sounds, while being behind the decks. She has explored different styles of electronic music, from Minimal-Techno, Tech-House, Electro-Techno and Hard-Techno to find her comfort zone in Industrial/Hard- Techno/Electro for a few years now, under her full name: Aurelie Schleger.
In 2007, she graduated from the [RAC] Digital Arts College in Montreal and also participated in several musical productions in collaboration with local artists.
Aurelie also works for multiple labels such as Elektrotribe Records (Germany), Black Leather Records (Colombia) and Atomic Soda Records (France).			
In the past few years, she proudly shared the decks with international Djs like: Radio Slave at Piknic Électronik, FLIM, Ancient Methods, Under Black Helmet, Swarm Intelligence, Orphx, Nuitsible and Öspiel.
Traveling between the latest releases and good old classic vinyl from the early 2000s. Aurelie likes to surprise her audience with a mysterious time-traveling and explore your state of mind, to be only one with you, all on board!	

For this mix, she wanted to raise awareness about the gender pay gap.

Aurelie: “Did you know that ‘’International Pay Equity Day’’ is September 18th? This day should also be for the 364 days of the year. Pay equity, this cause that is close to my heart because still, last year in 2022, women earn 77 cents for each dollar men earn for work of equal value, it's relevant and at this rate, it would take 257 years to close this abyss.
And just a little back in the 1880s, women typically played the role of the homemaker and had worked in textile industries and other industries. Then WWI happened, men left their jobs to serve their country and women replaced their jobs. Women filled many jobs that were brought into existence by wartime needs.  As a result, the number of women employed greatly increased in many industries. This was more than 100 years ago.
So, why do some companies still give less value to their female employees and even this before hiring them? Women today leave university with the same degree as their colleagues and for example, even before being hired in the same company, for the same position, woman will earn 9% less from her first day.
In the health system, it is 24% less than men.
Should we do interviews like ''blind dates'' where we don't even know the candidate's first name? No, I believe that the solution is very simple: transparency, no more barriers, no more glass ceiling, employers should take salary transparency measures for all candidates.
I wanted to dedicate this podcast including female vocals and women producers, for every human, workers, and CEO, to close the gender pay gap, asap.

753 is a duo from Barcelona with an enormous passion for hard techno music and audiovisual arts. Their goal is to do something different and creative they can be proud of.

The name 753 comes from an 11th century samurai code of honour that inspired an entire nation to fight for its ideals. This code lives on in our world of constant change: through discipline, honour and loyalty, the code lasted in the memory of humanity until it became the legacy of 753.

The 753 duo produces hard techno. They intend to innovate that scene and show what they are capable of. The people who discover them really appreciate their work and style, and as a result they have been able to work with record labels such as Gomboc, Hard Vision, Definition Of Hardtechno, Märked, SCTR.

AnDe Trois is an Italian artist born in 94 in Isernia.
Lover of all genres, he studied music since he was a child and this strong passion drove him to move to Naples, where he specialized as a sound engineer.
Sure about his musical direction, he feels the need to express himself with his sound, of course Techno.
Lover of the art of DJ and vinyl, he expresses himself with underground and dark sounds and with energetic grooves, by always keeping the right balance.
In 2021 he opened the doors of his music with several solo EPs and various collaborations, bringing his sound "Over The Limits", just like his slogan.

For the 7th installment of our mixtape series we have invited Irish music producer and qualified sound engineer Mark Greene to feature. 

After completing his training in the Sound Training Centre in Dublin under Will Kinsella (Hybrasil), Mark began signing some early tracks to various labels in Europe. Quite soon Mark was releasing tracks on well established labels like Bush Records, Naked Lunch, Elektrax and Carl Cox’ longstanding imprint Intec Digital. 

A string of popular releases allowed Mark to play all over Europe with regular trips to Amsterdam in particular for the annual ADE each Autumn.

An avid drummer as a child, Mark has always had an affinity for heavy kickdrums in his tracks. As the years have gone by his productions have gained some bpms and Mark’s music is now finding its way into the hands of DJs at the forefront of the industrial techno scene.

Rebekah, I Hate Models, Theo Nasa, Chris Liebing, D.A.V.E. The Drummer and more are supporting his productions of late, particularly his recent tracks on his new label DORCHA Records - meaning ‘dark’ in the Irish language.

Mark launched DORCHA Records in 2020 to circumnavigate the typical months-long wait to release on other labels. The label is a place for Mark to release tracks on his own schedule and experiment with various different styles and creative approaches. 

The aim of the label is to identify new artists and build a small roster to carry the DORCHA flag.

Each month you can tune into Mark’s Progress Radio show for one hour of unreleased music from himself and some of the best producers in techno. Broadcasting on several stations around the world, the show will reach the 100 episode milestone in 2022.
