After exploring a variety of genres, he ultimately found his passion in Techno. With a focus on high-quality production and unique soundscapes, David aims to create organic, synthesis-based worlds that resonate with authenticity. While his primary emphasis is on production, he has also been DJing for several years and made the switch to vinyl two years ago, appreciating the tactile experience it provides. As the founder of Backhaus Records, a label and collective, he not only releases his own music but also showcases like-minded artists and organizes events in Berlin.

His sound is known for rhythmic deep basslines paired with hypnotic mids and even complexer clean percussive elements, creating a driving mix with short intermitting breaks.

Solitario is the latest techno project by David Scaloni, born in 2022. David’s journey into the world of electronic music began in 2002, when he first stepped behind the decks at an Italian nightclub. Over the years, he has built a long-standing career, sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the scene.

David has been part of the organization of Fuoriorario events, where he continues to be a resident DJ. His productions delve into dark grooves, mental leads, and driving basslines, often layered with hypnotic textures.

In 2024, Solitario made waves with a string of releases, including his debut EP of the year with CMND CTRL Records, the "Bang n Burn" EP on Ket Robinson’s label, and contributions to acclaimed compilations such as Selected 2 and Unknown Movement. These works further establish his distinctive sound—moody, immersive, and unmistakably techno.

"ASCENSION" is the debut album release from artist ston, an independently released project. 

For Ascension, I set out to explore hard house, bassline, and electronic elements throughout.

This body of work means a lot to me; it took up six months of my life and taught me so much about music production. It also taught me the importance of committing to what you set out to achieve and the struggles that can come with that. Most importantly, it showed me that imperfection is okay when the alternative is procrastination.

I created this album using the DAW FL Studio, and as of its release, I’ve begun transitioning to Ableton, a commitment I set for myself when I first began this project.
Through this experience, I’ve learned that moving forward, I want to dive into more intricate ideas and trust my creative process without falling into the trap of comparing my work to others. I’m eager to experiment with more abstract percussions, deeper emotional progressions, and unconventional grooves. It’s going to be a journey, but I’m excited for it to begin.
