We aren’t sure what it about Germany that allows the country to produce such a high volume of quality electronic music but there surely must be something to it.  The air? The water? Well, we can neither confirm or deny any theory regarding why the area is such a hotbed of creativity for electronica but rather revel in Germanic cool. This weeks Podcast sees us head to back to the Fatherland as eclectic duo Monkey Safari serve up an hour long set of selections for your listening pleasure.

Having really hit their stride in the studio, with their many fun and scrupulously produced records earning them a nice little niche within the electronic music environs, the pairing have now set their sights on Ibiza, landing on the White Isle to take over Sankeys for Hommage alongside compatriots Super Flu May 27th, before hosting a hotly anticipated  boat party the day after. With plenty of other exciting developments in the pipeline for 2015 and beyond, the next 12 months look set to be the most exciting of the Monkey's career. We wish we could tell you more but right now all we'll say is watch this space!

End of the night slots where I've got a lot of space to play around, from a peak time opening to an almost after hours kind of finish. There's a point around half way through mix where it's almost as if the sun is rising and after that all bets are off, in the same way it happens in real life where you feel like there's total freedom to play whatever you like. Digital Finesse is proud to present Alex Barbu's Adolescence EP, a five-track vinyl that gives voice to a shy, introspective mind shaped by uncertainty. Oscillating between electro and techno, this record captures the raw essence of youth—where emotions are both unfiltered and deeply complex.

In June 2024, when we first listened to Alex Barbu’s tracks, we were immediately struck by their precision and sincerity. A bold minimalism, straight to the point, yet infused with intricate sound design and immersive atmospheres inspired by mountains and Mediterranean ambiances. Adolescence EP encapsulates that fleeting moment between innocence and self-awareness, between the effortless and loud grace of youth and the quiet nostalgia in the coldness of adulthood. As simple as the strong emotions of adolescence. As intricate as the places they transport you to.

To the three original tracks by Alex Barbu, we added two remixes that open new emotional dimensions. First, a never-stop-evolving rework by the Monolith, who fully JimmyBattified "Living Without Ego." Then comes Blinkduus Dischetto, closing the record with his signature raw sensuality, a tactile and almost cinematic reinterpretation that lingers long after the needle lifts. Each track tells a story. Each sound is a memory. Unique, like every life experience.
This is the kind of emotion Digital Finesse strives to bring to life.

Sides B, C, and D feature five exclusive studio originals, written and produced specifically for this night. On ‘Counting’, Britta and Sasha unfold their brand of stripped darkness and rolling groove work, while ‘Reformer’ teeters on taut coils of suspended synths. With ‘NGVMT’, the energy bursts open—a radiant block-party roller with throbbing staccato swagger and clanking metallic arpeggios. ‘Beam’ lifts off into pure cosmic wonder, its fluttering, airy themes spiralling skyward. ‘Good Life’ rolls the credits with a beautifully introspective soliloquy, tender and reflective beneath gentle waves of aspirating piano chords.

Born and raised in Xalapa, Mexico, Rebolledo is now one of the most important DJ's in Latin America. He started to create his own music by having ideas for the dance floor that hasn´t be done. Since 2002, Rebolledo has being part of @Kompakt, @Comeme, and created his famous project Pachanga Boys. This year he's back with his solo album Mondo Alterado.
