The 13th edition of Diynamic Music’s prime Various Artist EP series returns. “Four To The Floor” is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world.
Opening the release is electronic music veteran Dubfire with “The End To My Beginning”, a heavily 80s influenced track that, with its erratic horns and sirens, could be the centrepiece of a retrofuturistic movie soundtrack. Following up is the New York native duo Anden, which consists of brothers Tom and Pete Cuppernull, who bring their driving organic electronic soundscapes to Diynamic.
The artist behind track 3, Tom Zeta, is no stranger to Diynamic as he already released a full EP on the label in 2017 and now follows up with yet another contribution to the FTTF Series, his Melodic Techno track “Mirage”. Closing off the record is the very emotional “Rose In Japan” by Italian duo Voon, which just calls for closed eyes and daydreaming on the dancefloor.

The first „Four To The Floor“ of the new decade is on the horizon.
FTTF Edition 17 starts with the track “Rotweinfleck” by Diynamic founder Solomun and it’s a dramatic dancefloor play. Excited percussions lead the way; then suddenly, the main piano theme strikes a chord, shy at first, but in an ever-growing crescendo, until it culminates and unloads its weight like thunder.
Next up is “You Must Understand”, a dark and dizzy grave wave influenced track by Atlanta-native Sejva that sounds like a sinister medieval ritual with monks chanting their hypnotic mantra to brand it into your mind.
Track no. 3 titled “exe.cute” by Marc DePulse is a futuristic melodic Techno tune with a dirty bassline, pairing space-age synthesizer sounds with retro guitar lick aesthetics.
And closing off, gizA djs return to FTTF with the 80s Italo Disco influenced, euphoric dancefloor anthem titled “Dolce”.

BOHO and Rachel Raw have been grinding away for the past few years in the German techno scene from their hometown, Cologne. The two collaborate frequently both in the studio and on the decks, combining BOHO’s deep and focused sound with Rachel Raw’s heavy beats and hypnotizing melodies.

Their new EP, The Happening, stays true to their respective genre-bending catalogues. The title track displays a beautiful, spacey melody over a deep, techy bass line and driving groove. The Mr. Bizz remix thickens things up and takes it to the late-night dancefloor with a deeper and darker techno arrangement. Hansaring brings in the 303 for some acid-flavored progressive house, while Silver Stripe makes use of a filter-modulated bass and arpeggiated melodies to craft a hypnotic and exciting arrangement. Altogether it’s a diverse and unique set of sounds that showcases the German duo’s knack for interesting, genre-blending techno.

We last heard from Radeckt on the Spektrum 2 compilation, now he’s back with his debut solo EP. The Danish producer specializes in emotion- ally-driven club music, designed to spark inspiration and moments of contemplation. The dance floor is a safe space for free expression, human interaction and catharsis... Radeckt’s music is the perfect accompaniment to these channels of connection, while encouraging you to dance. On the Corroded Mind EP we get four original cuts, all of which encapsulate Radeckt’s penchant for music that moves the soul...

It all begins with the title track. ‘Corroded Mind’ has a subdued intro, gently guiding us into a mesmerizing sonic landscape. Soft pads massage the mind while siren-esque effects and metallic beats encourage the body to move to their hypnotic rhythm. Radeckt imbues the second half with drama and energy, while still keeping the mood sombre.

‘Narrative Lie’ utilizes layers of emotive synth and serene sounds, along with a meandering melody that lures you into its rhythmic flow. The glum low end counteracts the brighter elements of the track creating a neat juxtaposition. As the track progresses, the intensity of the main motif increases, sending temperatures rising.

Next up is ‘Invisible Guard’ with its oscillating bass and simple, yet highly effective riff. Radeckt confidently applies the pressure, carefully in- creasing the tension until we reach a scintillating breakdown which takes us into the glorious second half.

‘Silver Lining’ closes the EP, bringing a little bounce to the release. Radeckt gives us stuttered beats with great use of percussion to provide the energetic allure of this cut. As it builds, he incorporates an earworm melody along with neon laser synth lines and the whole thing feels like an eighties TV show theme with 21st Century sheen.
