Founding father of Diynamic Music, giant of the underground scene and luminary DJ/Producer Solomun delivers his first full EP in three years.

Leading with the dramatic and theatrical title track “Customer Is King”, the EP also sees Diynamic Music, the Hamburg-based imprint founded by Solomun and Adriano Trolio, celebrate its 100th release, passing the impressive milestone with a trusted and well refined musical recipe that has seen the label rise to be one of the most successful and supported underground labels of the last decade.

Following on to “Dre”, which is sure to find its way into many a summer sets is a musical tip of the hat to the early West-Coast sound that was popularized by music icons such as NWA, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Warren G and most notably, Dr. Dre.

“Ich Muss Los” (German for “I have to get going”) delivers a more compelling and industrial mood, akin to many an applauded dark, early morning set from Solomun himself.

Now with both the labels anniversary and 100th release behind them, Solomun and the Diynamic label continue to harmoniously innovate at a pace that surpasses their contemporaries, pushing their creative boundaries in and out the DJ booth.

Joy Division – Love Will Tear Us Apart (What If Re - Birth Edit)

Marking a milestone for their fledgling label, Adana Twins present the very first Various Artists compilation to be released on TAU. ‘Spektrum’ comprises eight fresh cuts from a diverse lineup of artists representing the Twins’ community of friends and musical acquaintances. In keeping with TAU’s ethos there are lesser-known talents side by side with more established exponents of the underground.

The VA kicks off with the Adana Twins themselves, delivering the melodrama on a cut named ‘Jumanji’. The rhythm is simple yet deadly, with a juddering low end and spinetingling synth lines. The tension builds gently, until we reach a crescendo towards the end of the track. Innellea is next with ‘The Things We’ve Accomplished Together’, a dark cut underpinned by a dour atmosphere. The main riff feels familiar as it increases the pressure, rousing you into a state of ecstatic energy. Ede & John Falke take us into dark wave territory with their moody cut, which feels as though it’s come straight from eighties synth heaven. Next we take a trip into the humid canopies of the jungle with Santiago Garcia & Speaking In Tongues. ‘Lost In A Jungle’ features a myriad of exotic sounds, tribal rhythms and percussion straight out of the Amazon. Enchanting mysti- cism and wild allure make this one a very special cut indeed.

Track 5 is Mulya & Sobek’s ‘Upfront Venture’, a simmering journey into the depths. A modulated low end grumbles and snarls, increasing the tension alongside a dainty riff. Steadily building into a breakdown that will send shivers down your spine. This is followed by more tribal-inspired music, this time from Nenor & Eyal Rob who use indigenous vocal clips and organic-sounding drums to create a mesmerising composition on ‘Odehya Nbiya’. Luis Junior plays with our minds on ‘Tuning Instruments’, a playful motif forms the main body of this cut, which is twisted and warped during an epic breakdown, before we’re treated to a soothing bassline. Last up, German don Daniel Bortz takes us ‘Down To The Moon’ with an exquisite roller full of dreamy atmospherics and laid back vibes. A fitting finale to an excellent collection of music.

Just in time for the silly season, Stil vor Talent presents The Last Trip 2 - a 10 track mini compilation that is laden with aural gifts from five international techno producers.

Laying the foundation for this club-ready collection of tracks is French producer Kiko, bringing a certain je ne sais quoi with the full spectral ‘Echoes of Light’ and the multifaceted ‘Panavision.’

Thousand Sirens follows up with with the driving psychedelia of ‘Kahlil,’ priming the dancefloor for an intrepid journey with ‘Humanizm,’ a trippy, bass-heavy track interwoven with powerful, thought-inspiring vocal samples.

Hot to trot VNTM commands attention with his unique riff on dark, underground techno interspersed with progressive melodies in. ‘Echoist’ packs a punch, and ‘Orange Skies’ delivers the roundhouse kick with its upbeat, squelchy synths.

Drunken Kong raises the tempo with the expansive ‘Uncovered,’ laced with exotic strings in a nod to his Asian heritage. ‘The Eye’ certain to engage the dancefloor with its charismatic tones and dynamic percussion.

You would be forgiven for expecting a genie to jump out of a bottle as you travel through the lush soundscapes of Heerhorst’s ‘Magic Carpet.’ Riding into the sunset is ‘1001,’ rounding off the compilation with its special brand of hearty, industrial darkness.

So deep you’ll choke on it, so dark it will take your retinas a while to readjust to the light, it’s safe to say this is a compilation for the dirtiest of dancefloors.

The seventh installment of the “Picture” series is hosted by electronic music veteran Sasha Carassi. The Italian presents highly emotive Techno with nods to his adolescent 80s by implementing nostalgic organ, string or electric guitar sounds into his deep and driving productions.
Diynamic Music’s „Picture:“ series is a document in time, showcasing an artist’s current creative output in order to allow the listener to visualize and understand the artist at a certain moment. It is not an album format, but far more than merely an EP. “Picture:” is various dancefloor-oriented facettes of one producer, shaping the imagery that ultimately results in the listeners mind.
