Spinbad's 90s Megamix

In December 2006 I got asked to do a live DJ set on Power 106 in LA, one of the biggest hip hop radio stations in the country. They said it was a special series where I could play any genre of music and wanted it to be like a club set. DJ AM had done one before that was so dope, so I felt I had to do something dope as well. I made a ton of custom edits and practiced at home to make sure the time would be exact. I had never DJed on a major radio station, only small college radio shows. 

I was just coming off DJing only on vinyl for 10 years. The DJ program we were using called Serato was very new and had just come out about a year or so earlier, so it was a whole new world of DJing. Eric Dlux and DJ Echo were the hosts and made it so much fun with their energy and ability to hype anything up. There is even a youtube video of parts of that day. After my set Fashen went on to do an amazing set too. So many people heard this mix live on the radio it was insane, and thankfully someone recorded it somehow, with the radio static and all. DJ Spinbad - No More Bullshit Blends

This latest unreleased DJ AM mix from 2008 is probably as close as we will ever get to another Elton mix. This mix was recorded on February 28th, 2008 for a Nous Modeling Agency Private Party held at the now defunct Area Nightclub in Hollywood. This was originally a full 3 hour mix but I’ve cut it in half because the second half was all club oriented mixes that we’ve heard many times from AM in previous mixes. I may post up part 2 at a later date. Part 1 of this mix is 90 minutes of Adam playing music he loved and it tilts mostly towards alternative music from the 80s to 00s. Hope you enjoy!

This is the CD rip of the "Rain Night Club Mix" that was giving out as promotional for the opening of DJ AM's residency there in summer 2009. Its a signature blend of his early mix's all the way up to his last current stuff. I was, am and always will be a huge fan of DJ AM. DJ AM's only set performed in Italy - almost exactly one year before his passing.
He had agreed to let me record the night if I did not share it with anyone. However, the time has come to let you all hear just how good he really was. 
I edited the track and removed the warm-up, opening and closing sets, however the full DJ line-up was as follows:

The night was insane! He was a true master at his craft. We pay homage to him and remember him with this recording.
