Marcame El Pasito - Orlando Ortiz y Karibe Mambo….. From the Album At Full Swing

Here we have my buddy Orlando Ortiz former lead singer of the New Swing Sextet who is now doing his own thing with his new group Karibe Mambo. His first single "Marcame El Pasito" will definitely fill the dance floors all around the Salsa Nations.
Orlando sent me two promos which he composed and I had a hard time deciding which track I should use for my review. Both tracks are awesome and this being so I can't wait until I get my copy of the his new CD "At Full Swing". They're currently working on a CD release party to be held in New York City sometime in April.
I highly recommend this CD and this is a definite add to your Salsa collection.
Yo DJs wake up and don't fall asleep on this hot production.

Mi Musica - Carlos Peña y su Salsa….. From the Album Mi musica

When I got this Cd through the post from Carlos Pena, I wondered as I get so much stuff these days. With listeners increasing and tuning in every week, I though I need a track that will blow the sho Global Vybz out of the water and the title track "Mi Musica" from Carlos Pena's latest I tell you was just what we needed to lift the spirit in the studio and the listeners and its BLAZING I tell ya.
Carlos did have his thinking cap on as the arrangments are just so refined and muy caliente, this is a must and for me its rather thrilling as it’s a UK release in relation ot all the others on the list for the album of the Year… Carlos well done as a supers production

Song of the Year 2011 for Global Vybz - Josue Joesph from the movie La Epoca - The Lost Rhythms of Salsa Sung By 

I met Josue in Poland after hearing so much about his movie La Epoca - The Palladium Era - an internationally-attended docu-film on the Mambo, the roots behind the umbrella term "Salsa," and its affects on the generations of musicians and dancers that have followed since its conception - is being presented by Film Director & Executive Producer Josue Joseph 
For his film, he pulled together some of old-school mambo's most distinguished musicians and dancers, such as the late Israel "Cachao" Lopez -  a pioneer of the mambo rhythm, and his father, "Alfonso-el Panameno." He also pulled together musicians from Johnny Pacheco's and Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez's orchestras such as Charlie Rodriguez, Chiripa, Santiago Ceron, and the late Leo Fleming; and dancers such as the late "Cuban Pete," who pioneered in the mambo, Freddy Rios and Mike Ramos from the Palladium Mambo Legends. All remained close friends of his father throughout the years since the 1950's and 60's.

After we played the track Vale Mas, we felt it needed to award it the single of the year, this year we felt it needed to Album of the year so we are adding this track to previous winner on the ever so popular show Global Vybz

New York City Band RIOH releases re-recording of the legendary 1970’s Classic Salsa hit "LLORARAS” through Sunflower Entertainment

Rioh is a New York City based band founded by music producer/songwriter Roman Rojas. The band’s music is an innovative mix of world, Latin, pop and dance rhythms fused with synthesizers usually found in pop, dance, and electronica music giving Rioh a unique new sound.

This new version of "Lloraras" has an electro/Latin sound full of power and rhythm that's features the sultry vocals of Rioh’s singer Mireya Ramos and on percussion as a guest artist legendary musician Luisito Quintero. This is the first time in history that “Lloraras” is re-recorded by a band other than the original composer and performer Oscar D’ Leon.
