As an avid believer that some songs shine only under the right circumstances Balduin doesn't shy away from weaving repetitive loops with patterns of ambience just to let some hands-up moments unfold every now and then. He doesn't like to think in categories. 

This approach is also reflected in his diverse musical productions. By reinterpreting genre-specific elements, discovering unheard soundscapes and with a good portion of nostalgia, he sculpts little stories that vibe on dancefloors and in living rooms alike. 

Following multiple appearances on labels like QC Records, Kompakt or his own GLYK imprint – DJ Balduin lands on KANN with a full lengths worth of downtempo, ambient and extasy inspired house cuts. 
Concrete Mimosa rolls out with 11 tracks to shine in full effect.

Mit 'Da Float' erschien von DJ Balduin bereits Ende 2022 eine EP, die uns aus der jahresendzeitlichen Lethargie riss und mit ihrer nostalgisch-verwaschenen Euphorie mal wieder zeigte, dass die Bestenlisten nie zu früh fertig geschrieben sein dürfen. Jetzt folgt - ebenfalls auf dem Leipziger Kultlabel KANN - 'Concrete Mimosa', verquickt dabei verschiedenste süßsaure Wohlfühlelemente elektronischer Musik auf Albumlänge und legt damit direkt nochmal einen drauf. Wir haben deshalb bei DJ Balduin angerufen und mit ihm über Ironie in der Kunst, Blockaden beim Produzieren und dem "Dazwischen" gesprochen.

Welcome to the first show after the summer break, with my guest dj balduin!

Christoph has been a companion in music since my Weimar times and is one of the few who likes at least one song from every genre and one sound from everything that can make sounds. Mostly you can hear his first double album "Concrete Mimosa" right now, with which he shines pretty much. There are a lot of good reviews about it: https://linktr.ee/djbalduin

Besides many different valuable and highly professionell arranged mixtapes on his soundcloud profile, songs from bands with real drummers are rather a rarity there. Every now and then, however, there is the rare chance of a cranky gig by Feuerbach, which is what dj balduin and I represent together. Thereby I have often been surprised by crisp drum sets and long lasting band sessions played by him. So I'm pretty sure that Christoph has more to offer in this direction than I'm aware of. He can both dig deep into something and highlight real pearls, as well as bring them together in dramaturgical interesting mixtapes! He doesn’t stop until it’s perfect.

Thank you Christoph, I’m really excited about what I am going to hear now. :) HDL.

Hello & goodbye. This is the last Dinger Fizz show! After 20 hot shows, the format comes to an end with its 21st episode. Very diverse and consistently masterful mixtapes have been created, which present the infinitely wide spectrum of music with real people playing real drums. It was an honour! I hope you enjoy listening to all the shows from the cloud! May the format rest in honour! 

Finally, a contribution from Christoph and me. @dj-balduin and @yetunseen as Feuerbach. We play Musik für Pärchen und Geysteskranke and have of course also translated this for Dinger Fizz.

The third release on Small Steps comes from a German DJ and producer, DJ Balduin. “Everything” is a three-track EP that captures the fleeting moment of the light meeting the dark.

The dusky “Andever” sets the tone with the atmosphere of a starting journey, an endeavor that is both forward-looking and nostalgic.

“Somar” glides after, transmitting the cinematic vision of dreamland life that settles for the night to the intimate dance of ethereal voices. While “You” invites on a lush sonic walk along its warm bassline, straight into the dawn, shimmering with euphoria.

“Everything” is a melodic tapestry oscillating between real and imaginary, on the edges of the day and night, losing itself in the shadow of melancholia to be found again under the ray of hope.
