DJ SPEN :
DJ Spen began his career at the age of 13, producing mix shows for WEBB AM in Baltimore. Even at that young age, Spen founded one of the area's first hip hop production groups, the Numarx. In 1986 they wrote and recorded a track called 'Girl You Know It's True' which was later covered and made famous by Milli Vanilli.

Spen's radio career continued to grow and lead him to a radio career working at various FM radio stations in the Baltimore and Washington areas. In 1992, Spen developed a mixshow on 95.9 FM in Baltimore called the Flashback Saturday Night Dance Party. Though Spen eventually moved on from radio, the show is still a hit today, with Spen's close friend KW Griff at the helm.

Spen's production talents lead him to Basement Boys Records in 1989. With the formation of The Basement Boys record label in 1994, Spen formed Jasper Street Company, and released his first full production, 'A Feelin'. With the Basement Boys and Jasper Street, Spen gained consistent commercial and dancefloor success, and became an in-demand remix producer. He has created remixes for some of clubland's biggest names, such as Diana Ross, Everything but the Girl, Ann Nesby, and Shaun Escoffery. While at Basement Boys, Spen partnered with Teddy Douglas, Thommy Davis and Karizma to create works that are still considered house anthems.

Having reached his full potential with Basement Boys, Spen stepped out on his own and partnered with Gary Deane at Code Red Recordings in January 2004. He hasn't stopped moving since! Spen is still producing and making records that are sure to become legend. He has formed a new group called the MuthaFunkaz whose first release, 'The Best I Can' shows a new side of Spen. Spen's new venture has found him back with former partners Thommy Davis and Karizma creating the successful 'Voodoo Ray' and '4 the Love' respectively. His new Spiritually Sound label will be sure to give Spen fans more of the gospel and inspirational house music Spen has become famous for.

With a career span of more than 20 years and his famous studio and production work, Spen has become one of the most sought-after DJs in the U.S. Today, Spen can be found jetting off to gigs at some of the premier clubs around the world while juggling his demanding studio work and time with his new baby . He plays regularly in the UK, as well as France, Italy, Japan, and Australia.

GARY HUDGINS :
Baltimore born and bred, Gary Hudgins has played keyboards professionally for over 30 years. As a self taught musician, Gary's skills and outgoing personality has carried him 'All Around The World For The Funk'.

Beginning from his local band in Baltimore known as 'The Grand Jury' way back in the day where he honed his skills, Gary went on to appear on stage at major venues with The Brides of Funkenstien (along with Dennis Chambers, Blackbyrd McKnight, and Jeff Bunn), the incomparable George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly Stone, Bootsy Collins, Stevie Wonder, Najee, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilson Pickett, Crystal Waters, Christina Milian, The Temptations, The Marvelettes and many others.

Gary's phenomenal keyboard talents can also be heard on recordings and remixes by artists such as Toni Braxton, Angie Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Brandy, Ann Nesby (The Sounds of Blackness), Taja Seville, Sybil and others. The outrageous diversity of all these artists will reflect Gary's diversity and his ability to adapt to almost any musical genre.

These days, Gary spends most of his time at his brand new studio in Baltimore, Maryland known as Taj Mahal Recording Studio where he works in creative partnership with DJ Spen, CEO of the new label 'Quantize Recordings Inc.' along with Irvin Madden and Thommy Davis creating the hottest dance music on the planet !!!

Switzerland's Nicolas Bassi serves up some perfect heatwave listening on Moiss Music

A deliciously lounge-y, laidback deep house groover here from Switzerland's Nicolas Bassi – a track that'd be just perfect on, say, a summer Saturday in July when the thermometer's threatening to top the 30° mark!

Coming on Russian label Moiss Music, Sweet Sunshine couldn't be much more aptly titled, opening with a crisp and actually pretty lively deep house beat before bustin' out a superb warm, NJ garage-style bassline, some nice organ/Rhodes (?) action and little jazzy piano flourishes, all of which are augmented by rhythmic sax parps. And once the latter arrive, that's about it in terms of instrumentation and structure: there's no big room drama here, just that bassline and the drums providing a bed for the keys to do their constantly evolving, lounge-y, jazzual but never over-noodly thing.

He may not be a household name but Bassi has been in the production game for over a decade, and it shows – this is classy stuff.

Nicolas Bassi was first introduced to the house music scene in 1994 being influenced by the New York sound of Tony Humphries, Louie Vega and Kerri Chandler. His musical interest covers a wide range of black music with a specific love of disco, jazz, funk, soul and house music.
Nicolas Bassi is clearly known as a central figure in Swiss riviera house scene, both as a Dj and as a producer.
Nicolas Bassi has produced for a number of labels such as, King Street Sounds, Poji Records, Groovebom Records, FunkHut Records, Soulstar Records, Irma Dancefloor, Bassi Digital, MAP Dance, Soulful Evolution Records, Check It Out Records, Taste The Music, Oh So Coy Recordings, to name a few.
