Island Boogie Mixtape - Ibiza 2023

The Black Light Disco Show returned to the @myhouseradio.fm airwaves on Monday 20th November 2023 - serving as the perfect pick-me-up for the week ahead and giving those Monday Blues a firm kick in the sweetbreads. 

This week sees the return of residents Goz and Esteban after a short hiatus. They’re currently setting up the newly decorated Winter Events Room here in BLD Towers, complete with fake snow, ice sculptures and an igloo-themed DJ Booth to put a topper on things. Featured tonight are tracks from  Chewy Rubs, Max Newton, Fran Deeper, Leslie Lello and Vaudafunk to name but a few. 

So sit back, relax, kick your shoes off and emerge yourself in a two hour back rub courtesy of Goz and Esteban.

State Of The Art: Nu-Disco-Funk

Dear family and friends,

It's a pleasure to welcome you to this year's "2020 wrap up party" ... and what a year it was indeed.

I fell in love with Nu-Disco and Edits in 2017/2018, being introduced to Soundcloud and its bottom-less pit of great music by my partner Jasmin and eventually started my own group "The Art of Edits" (www.facebook.com/groups/1017400235279489) a year ago. 

During the first few months of 2020 I saw many many brilliant DJs and edit/rework-artists joining the group and starting sharing their own music and the love for the genre.

Even though 2020 brought us the COVID pandemic and social distancing, it brought the Soundcloud users closer together musically. My own DJ-mixes (e.g. the Discoballs & PopArt series) started getting listened to more often and via "The Art of Edits" I started to discover new productions, producers, DJs and eventually made new friends.

Bio:
DJ BK started DJing in 1994 (Club Plastique) and has since had numerous club and bar residents in his hometown of Duisburg (Desperados) and its surroundings (Friday Night Club @ Kobra Moers). In 2022 he took the opportunity to DJ at an official ADE event in Amsterdam with great success.

Just before the pandemic, BK started a FB group called “The Art of Edits” and ever since he’s been specialising in creating edits-filled-mixes for SoundCloud, the most successful being his series “The Love Edits”, “Pop Art”and “Yacht or Not Edits”. 

BK and his wife Jasmin (@houseofJayKay) are members of the @DiscoWaltons family. Since the end of 2023 they are doing a bi-weekly live-radio-program "The Couple Show" on ndcradio.co.uk .
