Trying to put Dean Powell into a box or a category is a cagey prospect which is probably why the moniker “BREACH” so aptly fits the young dynamic House DJ/Producer. Born in England in and raised in Jamaica since the early 90s, this trendsetter has been a champion of his genre since falling in love with music in his early teens.

 

Schooled in the cool hills of St. Elizabeth at the prestigious Munro College and the University of The West Indies, Breach’s real education shows with his technical DJ-ing abilities, extended sets ranging from Funky Tech House to the melodious energies of Progressive House with a dash of Trance thrown in for extra credit.

The fresh new sound that Breach provides has been a huge draw for club promoters who have been utilizing the young talent all across the island since 2007. A weekly resident for the hugely popular Fiction Nightclub, which has hosted the likes of Bob Sinclair, Diplo, Congorock(for whom Breach has opened) and 12th Planet, Breach has rebelled against the status quo and seen thousands of music fans being converted to his cause.

 

As a Producer Breach seeks to capture deep emotion with unreal levels of energy in the form of Progressive & Electro House.

Currently Breach is managed by Steve “Urchin” Wilson who doubles as Sean Paul’s tour manager.
