Janette loved to dance and was very influential in getting me into clubbing and djing back in 1985. We put lots of miles in her Scirocco driving to clubs in Seattle, Tacoma and destinations in between...Skoochies, City Beat, Club Broadway, Pacific Breeze (Club Bangkok). She loved to dance and by looking on Facebook at the last years of her life, she never stopped loving to dance with her friends. Janette was my first girlfriend and I had a lot of firsts with her. She opened my mind to a lot more that the world had to offer.  I was so lucky to spend my formative years with her. 
 I'm sorry she is gone and I wish I would have made this mix for her when she was still with us. These songs remind me of the records we listened to in our bedrooms, the tapes we played in our cars, the concerts we went to and the club hits we danced our asses off to. I can close my eyes and smell the clove cigarettes now.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Preddy my name or Herr Preddy or Preddy Tendergrass. Since my parents bought me in my early childhood some K-Tel and Arcade Comps records complete hits my soul. From Rock to New Wave to No Wave to early Rap to Electronics to Ska to Soul to Disco to House to Jazz to Bossa Nova to Dancehall to Rocksteady to Folk to nearly everything that catch my attention is in my collection. Starting to spin beginning of the 1990s at legendary BeatBox Club in Wuppertal, worked long time for Groove Attack Record Shop & Distribution to finally be on my own Deejaywise, with my Label personal rec., as a Radio Host with my Show Rare & Well Done for Radio Superfly in Vienna and doin sometimes some productions with DJ Buzz from the Waxolutionists. 

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about 

what you love about the format.
Always in love with the small ones. In my youth it was the Format if you couldn't afford with your pocket money the big ones. The love for the 45s stayed and later on it started to be the main medium for sounds like Funk, Soul, Reggae etc. Then people around started to turn digital because of backproblems or fed up of carring tons of Vinyl around i decided to spin and travel more and more with my small Avonberatercase. Same result and more fun. And for the DJ-side: the small ones can be bitchy as hell, hard to handle but this only multiply the fun if you get them in control.....

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your
selection for your 45/7 mix?

This mix is like a shortened Clubnight. I like to warm up with slow and moody tunes, turn the level more up, let it collapse, boiling it up again and ending with something or obscure. First record is very important, the rest follows istinctly. 
  
4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music?

I dunno have a residency. Back and forth all the time. In Vienna at the Dachboden/25 Hours Hotel, Heuer am Karlsplatz, Kleinod Stadtgarten, or you can catch me at Blockpartys like Zweitbester Strassenfest, Events like Liquid Market, Future Prop Tech, Vienna Flatland Jam,...otherwise in Bukarest, Cologne, Zürich, Madrid, Istanbul etc.
