This week, we look back into the archive for our Mountain Standard Guest Mix. We've selected Kial's set from the December Takeover of The Black Box Lounge. It was an absolute honor to have this legend on our stage! Kial has been behind the majority of the Mastering done for Coal Mine Sound and provides a wealth of knowledge to the Bass Community that we are so grateful for.
 He is teaching production classes at The Black Box Sunday school all month,  and we strongly suggest you check it out. 

"Label Boss, Producer, Instructor of the Sonic Arts, and DJ: Kial has been fiddling with electronik sounds and computer sequences for over a decade now....always practicing the art of sound design, with a special affinity towards the lower end of the frequency range, and Lo-Frequency-Oscillators.

A twiddler, tweaker, and synthesist that takes time with each timbre in the composition.

In the last few years experimental ambient music and bass heavy dubstep have occupied the sonic space in the lab, but there is never a restriction on what type of noises could or should be made. Soul-Seeker, Sonic Tweeker, Sub-Bass Scientist....Kial.

Kurat Karu has always loved music and the way it brings people together. Starting his Djing journey in 2016 and production journey in 2021 by blending melodic elements and deep heavy basses he is able to connect people through sound. Influenced by artist such as Charlesthefirst, Supertask, Pink Floyd, Tupac and many more his sound is heavy yet very emotional at times, with drum patterns very reminiscent of hip hop and a dubstep flow that’ll get the floor moving.
