Applying a musical palette that grasps varying influences, the air from Melbourne based Sophie Forrest is welcome, whether it be in the studio, before a dance floor or in the kitchen as a small-batch hot sauce aficionado. As one of the nation’s few transgender DJs and producers, she too champions trans-represantion across the Australian dance community, celebrating equality, ambition and talent in music.

BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY LIL JUDGEMENTS ABOUT THE TITLE & THE SONGS etc etc I would like to share the backstory for this.

I actually had the idea for this mix in November (before summer) so it would be ready for summer... But somewhere in the middle there I had an experience that left me really shaken and feeling very insecure about myself. My thoughts to even post this were such a head fuck I almost didn't even want to finish it.

So this mixtape became a big creative outlet as a FUCK YOU to any man who wants to try and strip my confidence from me. 

This mix includes a selection of songs that make me feel strong, sexy, beautiful and confident. 

I couldn't find good quality acapella's for the life of me, so I had to use the original versions of all the pop/hip hop throwbacks. I had so much fun with the mashups but they won't sound perfect. I kinda fkd up a couple transitions at the start but eventually got my flow.  Not ALL of the songs are mashups just for your information!
