Ops is an actor, visual artist, DJ and music producer. He is part of Criolina crew, that since 2005 produce, research and promote culture in Brazil's capital. O Norte do Sul EP is his first solo release.

With his ears opened to the new sounds from the north of the south hemisphere, the EP brings the groove from the brazilian north and northeast and presents a sound that refers to the early history of electronic music, the soundtrack of the first video games and sci-fi movies.

Both the instrumental music from the north and northeast of Brazil and the first experiments with synthesizers, feature loops of melodic patterns. In lambada, guitarrada and baião, who leads the arrangement are the riffs of rabecas, sanfonas, pífanos, guitars and brass. Role that in the electronic music is played by the arpeggios. Aware of this, Ops transported Brazilian themes to the dancefloor universe, in a eletro-tropical atmosphere.

In addition to Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms, You can notice the influence of African music, especially from Angola -like Zouk and Kizomba - which he acquired during the time he lived in Lisbon, where he produced O Norte do Sul EP.

With the label Frente Bolivarista, known for promoting the new Latin American music, the EP also features remixes of  he producers Señor Chancho, Tropikal Ravers and El Búho.

"Cela se sait peu, mais chaque année, le Père Noël fête la fin de sa tournée au Palos Club (Luanda), ce lieu de débauche imbibé d'alcool et d'afro house. Il y a d'ailleurs opportunément placé un de ses nombreux fistons, devenu à force de bourre-pif et de câlins un videur emblématique. 

Surnommé Papa Yeah pour son sens du groove et son style, il est le gardien du sens : celui qui te vire quand t'es bourré, celui qui te ramène à la réalité, bref celui qui fixe les règles du jeu dans ce huis clos vrombissant." 

Ancien agent de sécu, Sauvage FM en a conservé une approche clinique et sociale du dancefloor - peut-être parce qu'il ne boit pas d'alcool. Une sobriété qui lui permet de poser tranquillement les questions qui fâchent : dans quel contexte les gens se comportent-ils le plus mal ? dans un club ou au boulot ? Et où le respect s'apprend-il ? 

Chaque nuit, au Palos Club comme à la Calle ou au Passeport, on ne fait rien de moins que redéfinir le bien et le mal. Sauvage FM distribue les munitions et les bisous, puis regarde les gens s'entretuer et s'aimer, à l'abri de la tempête qui broie les hommes au-dehors.

https://soundcloud.com/villagecuts are a dynamic DJ / Producer duo from London, showcasing music from Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, through the lens of UK club culture. Since their inception in 2018, they have ignited dance floors at venues and festivals around Europe, whilst holding down regular club nights and live events across London.

The duo have released music with ​Wah Wah 45s,​ ​Strut Records​ and ​Heavenly Sweetness​, and have recorded with pioneering musicians from Africa and Colombia. Village Cuts are truly committed to championing new sounds whilst celebrating global underground movements.

For their debut on Galletas Calientes Records, they've produced an electro-soukous double-sider released December 2020 on 7" vinyl, alongside Colombian Champeta legend Louis Towers and British guitar virtuoso Patrick McMahon aka Mahon Sounds

Although never having set foot on Champeta's promised land (that is Colombia), the duo managed to get a pertinent grasp at the genre, adding most of the elements to their own Afrobass flavor and UK club production technique. West African beats, "caidas" (drops) and "despeluques" (frenzy) along with a crazy rhythmical use of the Yamaha SK5's most distinguished samples such as the "perreo" (synthesized barking sound) - all set up for a heavy tropical madness!

While "Vengo Ganao" and Towers' Afro-Colombian vocals call for a sexy "baile amasizado" on a sunny beach in front of a  "pico" style Caribbean Sound-System in Barranquilla, "Cheza" is an uptempo instrumental, 80s style bass-heavy Congolese soukous dancefloor joint, where Patrick McMahon shows his outrageous guitar skills.
