RR0035 is the debut release on Reformed from
the mighty DJ Choppah. Choppah’s life in d&b
goes all the way back to ’94, when he first
caught on to the music. He’s been mixing since
2000, and has played at venues up and down the
nation and also internationally. He spendS a long
period with the Resistance Fammo, and is now
taking charge with the Digital Roots UK crew and the Jungle Revolution massive. On RR0035 he hooks up with the Reformed label guys, to unleash his sound in the shape of two big hitters, Oooh Yeahhh and Rubba Dub.
Oooh Yeahhh might hit you as a straight up banger, but the track and the production has hidden depths. Choppah begins things with the beat, and what a beat it is, adding in layers of synths, samples and effects, including a sexy vocal snatch which spills out the track’s title. The breaks kick in after the drop, giving you a sense of old skool which is well worked into the mix. Choppah uses all of his experience on Oooh Yeahhh, which’ll rock any club or home system. The perfect fit for Reformed, this one is set to be huge. Get inside Oooh Yeahhh.
Rubba Dub is another blasting jungle d&b number, with rushy breaks and fresh, in your face stabs in the intro. Things drop down for a second, as Choppah introduces ragga-tinged echo and a rolling, insistent bassline. He brings the pace back up, meeting the main section with a bright, optimistic feeling, but never forgetting the grit and the grime of his particular take on new skool, 2014-style jungle d&b. The result is a forceful, but measured track, a perfect response for Oooh Yeahhh.
Choppah has put together a release which is forward thinking, but which reflects where he is coming from and where he is at. Grab it now, and watch out for more from Choppah and Reformed soon.

Dj Choppah is a jungle drum n bass dj working his way up the jungle drum n bass ladder.
choppah first got the buzz for mixing way back in 1994 listening to a dj hype mix tape, cutting the bass and treble on his sony walkman, a few years later upgraded to trying to mix on 2 different cd stereo's. lol, finally choppah got himself a pair of belt drive sound labs in feb 2000, then finally got my technic 1200 a few years later, and has not looked back since.. 

choppah has listened to allsort's of music over his life time, from danny o'donald on long car trips to ireland with his parents, then all your usual oldschool hardcore, happy hardcore, jungle,listening to kool fm and dream fm, and also garage, speed garage, house, trance, but finally got hooked on drum n bass again in 1999 by going to warehouse raves and squat parties. then started hitting clubs like stratford rex, eq club, the drome(se1) light house, to name a few, going to raves like rain dance, best of british, world dance, innovation, telepathy, slamming vinyl and jungle fever. 

rite so dj choppah made his debut radio show on shokin fm round north west london area. then played on other pirate radio stations, like raw flex, lush fm, freek fm, and then onto internet station like love to radio, dreamfm, drum n bass worldwide then onto originuk and is now hosting a weekley show on www.koollondon.com every tuesday evening from 11pm till 1am gmt.. 

choppah has spread his wings round the uk  London, Aylesbury, Dunstable, St Albans, Exeter Coventry, Sheffield & Plymouth plus overseas in Austria, Czech republic & Barcelona

you might have heard dj choppah playin @ these events along side resistance fammo over the last 5 years..  STICKY, TELEPATHY, BREAKIN SCIENCE, DAWN RESISTANCE, MERKALISHOUS, DEF;INTION, JUNGLE MANIA, DECADE OF DANCE, EPIDEMIK, BACK 2 93 pluss load's more.

choppah is a former member of the resistance fammo, from 2003 to oct 2012,(big up to little joe atomic tempo and dj fatality for putting up with my shit for many years,, lol) but had to take a step back from life in the fast lane with the fammo, to concentrate on his family and spend a bit more time on his production, 

but the jungle drum n bass scene has taken choppah in a  different direction in 2013, co running DIGITAL ROOTS UK alongside soulculture and dj barrikade, with a bag full of forthcoming releases on DIGITAL ROOT UK from the likes of jinx(DREAD), sharps, java, rob blaze, soulculture  and maybe a few from myself.. and so much planed for more 
JUNGLE REVOLUTION for the future with more studio mix's from an few different djs, keeping all nu-skool jungle..(whats nu-skool jungle u ask?? its jungle music with influences from reggea/ragga dubwise soulfull music with a 2013 production sound...  and also watch out for events for the JUNGLE REVOLTION family..
