Herbie Mendes - Nana ( Dedy Dread Re-Jazz)

This little gem is from back in 2003, way before Omegaman. One of my best buddies Andy Travers & I worked on a bunch of tracks - we were known as NEMO (before the Disney movie)- we spent our days crate digging for lounge samples & funky beats. HEY! was done on an old Atari ST computer with external midi sound modules (Korg, Ensoniq + an Akai sampler) + Greg Dean playing some super cheezy keys - all bounced down through a sound desk to cassette (it was the perfect soundtrack for my old 1960's Hillman Minx.) We did some great tunes back then along with the master of midi & keys Phil Grove, the lovely vocals of Linda Janssen - the artwork for this is by the incredibly talented Nigel O'Neill - enjoy!

*** Aug 2012 Update *** Benz Bargain Bin Bossa is now included on the debut Daytoner LP, 'Sunburst Radio' (Wass 009 - Released 27th August 2011.)

'Benz Bargain Bin Bossa' was also previously released in May 2011 on limited edition 7" vinyl - Club Tikka 45 Vol 5 / MUTO 017 (Germany) 
This version is a 2010 update of a track made years ago in a session with local funk legend, DJ Benz, a pair of 1200's and his amazing 7" vinyl box. Many thanks to Helmut at Legere Recordings and Mr Confuse for putting this out on good ole wax and thanks to DJ Benz for an enjoyable evening of rifling through the vintage vinyl.

Here's what MUTO / Club Tikka / Legere Recordings said in their press release for the 7" vinyl...

"Here it is, Volume 5 in the Club Tikka 7inch series. Do you to popular demand we put Daytoner’s mighty glam funk workout of Mr. Confuse’s, "Hurricane Jane“ from his Légère Recordings download album - "Feel The Fire: The Remixes“ on the A-side of this very limited vinyl edition.
