DJ Curious, born Tokollo Mokhethi on the 07 Dec , was first
introduced to the whole djing discipline in the early 1990’s with the biggest
influence coming from his Friend Tshepo(QT) and his associations with
legendary DJs Mbuso and Dj Ganyani From Soweto. He maintains that his
very unique taste in house music is the result of years growing up listening
to different genres of music like your acid jazz, lounge music, neo-soul,
aquistic-soul and hip-hop. His love for music, combined with influences from
big name DJs at that time like Vinny Da Vinci, Ganyani,Mbuso,Fistaz,The Late
Khabzela and Dj Monde, inspired DJ Curious to fall in love with deep-soulful
house, at a very tender age.


After years of just being a psychopathic house music lover, he was greatly
influenced by friends and other club DJs at that time, the likes of DJ
Mavusana (Soul Café), DJ Qt and DJ Ganyane, to start collecting
vinyl’s and developing his own unique style of play. In November 2004,
after collecting vinyls for about a year and mastering the art of intelligent
mixing and sequencing, DJ Curious saw that spinning records was becoming a
full on passion, and this was further highlighted by the great responses he
received from house music lovers, after listening to his many mixes. Shortly
thereafter he teamed up with close with Ganyane and Mavusana who had been
popular deep house DJs at that time, and with their help, he started making
a name for himself on the local house music scene.


DJ Curious believes that djing is a very spiritual thing, where DJs take
listeners on a journey of music, with the use of different musical
instruments like your cords, baseline, beats per second and melodies
combined with sequencing and choice of music genre. DJ Curious also coowns
the entertainment company, Arenweng Entertainments with His Friends and
has been involved in organizing events with Big Brands like SAB and Distel 
Bashes and the Macufe Pre- and After Parties.


DJ Curious has been thrilling crowds in places as far as Cape Town, Gaborone,
Durban, Mafikeng, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Newcastle and Bloemfontein just
to name a few. In Feb 30 2010 he partnered up with DJ Qt,Tuls and
started the Quantized Sessions every Thursday evenings at the popular
Fession Tv in Ranbug City. Their vision was to start a party movement where
deep-house vinyl junkies could come and play and express themselves in a
way that they couldn’t anywhere else in the World. The sessions featured
guest Djs like Vinny Da Vinci, Claude, Blackcoffee, Sisco, Terance,
Mbuso, and Miggs just to name a few. With the same vision in mind,
DJ Curious currently hosts The Friday Shelter Sessions at Backroom Soweto
every Friday nights,With Qt and Tulz, which mostly play the very best of Cafe del Mar and
Brazillian sounds.

He has Compiled Few Albums with USM Record Label,in 2007,Sush as The Rock,that was Released mid June 2007 for The Poppular Club in Soweto(The Rock),Then Late 2008 He joined Sheer Music,Where he Released his First Album Sheerhouse Video Mix 1(DVD/CD Album).On The Album he Features Most Poppuler Artists and Producers Such as(Dj Tira,Mujava,Mbuso,Four to the Floor,Sis n Jones,Qt,Tom Novy,Mmthis,Durban Finest etc).Then 2010 he Joined shelter Music,For Mrketing and advertising and also Designing the Shelter Website.” Sky is definitely the
limit for this amazing DJ talent!
