On WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19th, STUNNA presents another special installment of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. In this week's broadcast, STUNNA welcomes back seasoned selector ChRiStAL to the program for an exclusive guest mix.

UK-based DJ ChRiStAL (aka CHRIS AU) is the co-owner of prominent DRUM+BASS label SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS, alongside U.S.-based CLEN. The imprint is based out of NORTHAMPTON, UK and WASHINGTON, D.C., respectively.

Initially launching in MAY 2016 with their debut release, in form of JRUMHAND's 'BEACHES + COUNTRYSIDE' EP, SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS quickly became a revered imprint, dedicated to bringing atmospheric, funky, soulful, and rolling vibes from the best in the scene to the ears of all listeners worldwide. Since its conception, SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS has established a respectable place within the scene, with full support from its peers and an ever-growing fan base.

In addition to his work on the administrative side of the label, since 2018, ChRiStAL has been running a DRUM+BASS club night alongside SOUL DEEP RECRODINGS' head honcho SCOTT ALLEN, CLEN and JOHN CROSSLAND (one half of the SoulStructure duo). Aptly named "SOUL DEEP vs SMOOTH N GROOVE," the series features a myriad of artists from both labels performing at their events. They have also taken the "SOUL DEEP vs SMOOTH N GROOVE" brand to the U.S.A., hosting parties in LOS ANGELES at "RESPECT," "STAMINA" in SAN FRANCISCO, and the MOSAIC club in BALTIMORE. The next "SOUL DEEP vs SMOOTH N GROOVE" edition is planned for SATURDAY, JUNE 21st at CLUB 43 in NORTHAMPTON, UK.

Join us this session as ChRiStAL returns to the 'THE GREENOOM' and unveils a brand new guest mix featuring upcoming sounds on the SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS label alongside some of his favorite tracks doing the rounds globally. Tune in!

Seit inzwischen neun Jahren steht Minzkönig an den Decks – angefangen hat es in Würzburg, heute ist er in Darmstadt zu Hause. Als Teil der beat.stay.love-Crew ist er regelmäßig unterwegs und hat sich fest in der lokalen Bass-Music-Szene verankert.

Seine Leidenschaft gilt den gebrochenen Beats rund um 175 BPM – ein Tempo, das ihn nicht mehr loslässt. In seinen Sets trifft düster-minimalistischer Sound auf wilde Breakbeats, raue Basslines und funky Stabs, die für überraschende Energie sorgen. Immer deep, immer treibend – Minzkönig weiß, wie man Floors in Bewegung bringt.

Bei diesem Mix hat Minzkönig tief in den Releases der Zeit gegraben, in der er das Genre für sich so richtig entdeckt hat - 2009-2011. Freut euch auf eine entsprechende Mischung von early 2010er Shogun Sound und modernem Flexout. Begleitet wird das Ganze von Konsul, dem lyrischen Weggefährten vom Minzkönig, dessen Vocals aus dem Unity Project hier ihren Weg auf neue Tunes finden.
