Most of the audio for this tune is a heavily modified version of the audio track from a 1958 student film produced at the University of Southern California. The original video, of the same title "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?” is self-described as an "imaginative film showing how automatic gadgets in homes and workplaces alienate people from one another.” It’s interesting that over half a century later, many people still share this same fear of technology-induced depersonalization. My piece is an extreme embrace of digital technology to demonstrate the chaos and anxiety that comes from living in society so drastically influenced by technology.
