AKO Beatz - History Pt5 - Mixed by OSL

I decided to start having LIVE guests on the show every couple months.  Mostly as a way to reconnect with friends and have some fun back to back sessions like we used to.  My first guest, REMO,  is an old friend of mine.  I think I was doing sound for a party at the Airliner in Los Angeles when he was playing dubstep and repping the mighty "Pure Filth Soundsystem".  We found out we were both residents of the LBC and kept coming across each other at several parties at the time which had alot of cross pollination of Jungle, DnB, Reggae and Dubstep.   Fifteen years and many back to back sessions later,  REMO finally played on Attenuation Radio on the mightly Jungletrain.   We even had my two boys vibing and dancing randomly in the background and getting on the mic at the very end.   Hope you enjoy.  Tracklisting below

Jungle would not exist without samples, and sampling culture. The foundational bedrock of the genre – the break – are isolated drum sections from older records, most notably the break from The Winstons' "Amen Brother". This re-imagining of classic soul, jazz and R&B music often extends to the melodic samples in jungle, creating a distinctive softer side to the genre, recalling slow jams and emotive ballads.
