Initially this was supposed to come out on the HOUSE MASTERS FRANKIE KNUCKLES Compilation on Defected.
To make a long story short... it never did, I was given the blessing from Judy Weinstein (Def Mix Productions Founder) along with Hector Romero to do as I please with this version.
I did this with my keyboardist Erik Deutsch the day after I attended Frankie Knuckles funeral because I felt like I needed to do something not just in his honor but to continue to raise awareness of who this ICON is and undoubtedly none of us house heads should ever forget.
The whistle song is what introduced me to his music so it was only right that I created a version that captured the soul & beauty of the original BUT I wanted to give it more of a BALLAD feel, a version WE CAN ALL USE to close out a great party in his honor when we have them or simply to just hear at your restaurant, lounge, chill/comfort zone.

So ENJOY THIS FREE DOWNLOAD and please play it when and where ever you can no matter where you are.

If you've ever dug through old drives for anything you know how mundane and unrewarding it can be. It's like a road trip that never ends. However, when you come across a file labeled  "Actavis and Activator" you pull the car over and see what's going on. I couldn’t tell you when or why I made it but I’m glad I did. Feel good vibes for feel bad times. Hope you like it.”

What started as a dancer’s love for music grew into a boundless exploration, wandering through the realms of soulful sounds, unconfined by genre, yet deeply rooted in the culture and social fabric that shape it.

I was back home for 2 weeks for a holiday on the South East coast of the UK and arrived back in Amsterdam with a 60+ new buys. This show highlights the diversity and range in record stores across the UK from reggae, dub and street soul to US disco, funk and house! A majority of these were bought in Hastings and St Leonards from Pressing Matters, Wow and Flutter and Courthouse Records - and then a couple from a day in London at Atlantis Records.
