DAVID ASKO - Live Set @ Magazine Club (Lille, FR) - Part B - 03.02.2018

Longtime collaborators La Fraicheur & Leonard de Leonard are coming up with a techno live performance with brand new material, mixing analog, digital and modular, from which the two original tracks from the Sang Chaud EP are the first excerpts, giving a glimpse into their acid and industrial sound ruffed up by punk energy.

On remix duty, they have put to work some of the European newcomers they believe in the most.

It only took 3 Eps and an energetic killer live performance for Calling Marian to become the rising star of French techno. Part of the queer collective Conspiration and founder of CVNT Records, her remix is an emotional melodic acid track oscillating between darkness and light, with surprising percussions working like a tribal call to the dancefloor on the first hours of the morning.

Berlin-born and raised producer Modig released his first EP on Soma this year, soon to be followed by an album. In the middle of this work in progress, he came up with a 90‘s inspired remix like a ravey trip with cutting Thunderdome- like stabs, swirling bass, catchy vocals, and playful breaks.

La Fraicheur discovered Caravel when she was opening for her at a festival last year. During soundcheck, a track was played she instantly fell in love with. It was Caravel‘s first track ever. Seeing a very promising future for this fresh new face from the WE ARE RAVE crew, she put her in charge of a remix that would showcase her sound inspired by old school acid: heavy, epic, dark and moving forward like a bulldozer.

Belgian 2+2=5 might be young but his past EBM tracks already carry the weight of the contemporary dystopia we live in. Switching gear and turning to broken techno to express that angst, he infused his remix with an industrial flavor drenched in sweaty warehouse reverbs, carrying a mechanical oppressive energy throughout the track.

Florian Meindl‘s Flash recordings new protégé Porteix teams up with Korros, another Bordeaux based French producer and founder of 51 Degrees North Recordings, to deliver a hypnotic remix built on driving drum layers and resonating dark cavernous atmospheric textures.
