This mix is full of the tracks I played at Parklife on the VIP stage and tunes from last months Bitch @ Venus Manchester.

As a Dj some tracks wedge memories into your head when you play them out, especially at Parklife. So I had to open the USB History files and re do a mix. Can never forget that sunshine, the vibrating scaffolding and the guys who were wasted at 12pm dancing like clowns!

When the teams behind Bitch Events and Venus brought John Dahlback to the club in March 2013, we made a statement that this year Venus would aim to bring some of the biggest DJs in the world to the club. May 5th 2013 sees us take the next step in fulfilling that aim. 

The name Chris Lake has been the talk of electronic music for the past six years. Six years in which he has accomplished more than most could in a lifetime. Six years in which you’d expect other artists’ popularity to fade. Not Chris.

The latter half of 2011 saw the man himself sign an album deal with American powerhouse Ultra Records and unleash the single “Sundown”, which went top ten on Beatport and clocked up another ‘world famous Essential New Tune’ accolade on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show. 

The earlier successes of “Changes”, “La Tromba”, “Only One” and “If You Knew” only reaffirm Chris’s ever-present reputation as one of dance music’s most innovative producers. These tracks, especially “Changes” have become Venus Manchester anthems in their own right and guarantee to see the hallowed Venus dance floor packed from front to back with hands in the air. 

He’s topped industry charts over and over and been classed as one of the best producers on the planet, but Chris Lake’s story is far from over. Put simply, a Chris Lake show is an experience and one to be savored. 

Supporting Chris Lake is one of the clubs longest standing residents and a legend in the club is our very own Chris J Frater. Not only an immensely talented DJ but him and his production partner Ryan Stent have had tracks signed to Pacha Recordings, Hed Kandi, Suka Records and Applique Music to name a few. 

Completing the lineup is a selection of local DJs guaranteed to keep the crowd going all night long. Alex & Jay, Dave Tunstall, Sean Grainger, Gavin Bayley, Ric Wainwright and Nick Kapoor.
