GROUND brings his Osaka-delic sound to the Multi Culti disco

A long-time friend and collaborator, GROUND has been part of the Multi Culti Family since it's early days, playing together at festivals in Europe and Asia, hosting us in his native Osaka, doing limited edition silk-screened merch with his CHILL MOUNTAIN partner at our pop-up shop in Berlin. With all that history, it's about time we did a proper release together!

This set of tracks has all his hallmarks as a producer: loopy, funky grooves that make you nod your head and stomp your feet, tracks bedazzled with wonky bleeps, squelches, noise samples, and pitched percussion, a musical collage packed with equal parts 'kawaii', 'wabisabi', and of course 'saikederikku.'

Party music for machine elves, cartoon hallucinations, beats for inner and outer dance, drawn from mystical mountain moments as much as from the dope, dense cities of Japan - dig deep into GROUND.

2021年12月3日　国の史跡に指定されている竹田城跡にGroundさんをお迎えし撮影を行ってきました。竹田城跡は、城下町から見上げるような山頂にあり、天候や気温によって城下を流れる円山川に発生する川霧の雲海に浮かぶ様子から「天空の城」「日本のマチュピチュ」などと言われ広く知られる山城跡です。

On December 3, 2021, we welcomed Ground to Takeda Castle Ruins, which has been registered as a national historic site, for a video shoot. Takeda Castle Ruins is a mountain castle ruins located on a mountaintop looking up from the castle town, and is widely known as "castle in the sky" or "Machu Picchu in Japan" because of the way it floats in a sea of clouds created by river fog that forms in the Maruyama River flowing under the castle depending on the weather and temperature.

Based in Osaka, Ground processes and reconstructs sounds he encounters around the world to create new creations for the dancefloor. evoke visions of pulsating otherworldly ecosystems. Immersing oneself in these sounds often feels like transcending the human-alien divide.

He started DJing in his teens and has played all over Japan, based in Osaka's underground music scene. He was one of the founders of the Chill Mountain collective, which held regular parties on the mountainside of Osaka, and later, together with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills, started to focus on the record label Chill Mountain Recordings. He began to focus his efforts on the Chill Mountain Recordings record label with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills. They have performed at various festivals and events in over 27 countries, including the USA, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Ecuador, Croatia, Israel, Cyprus and Switzerland.

He has a thriving personal career, with a rich and complex catalogue of EPs, singles and collaborations, as well as seven albums & seven Ep releases, including his 2018 world debut album SUNIZM on the LA label ESP Institute.
