Mamazu started his DJ carrier in the mid 90s, fully inspired by the dancers, sounds and visuals at the legendary club Aoyama MIX. He’s one of the few DJs in Japan that’s able to create an original organic groove whether in a small club or in an enormous open air festival, always presenting the avant-garde to the dance floor.
He has performed for Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, Boiler Room, Cassio in Hong Kong, NTS Radio in the UK and other influential platforms. Also releasing tracks/remixes from sound labels around the world, with tracks remixed by Nicola Cruz and many more. These recordings have been widely praised by producers globally, such as Andrew Weatherall mixing these tunes in his sets. In 2021, he will start his own label, SABI. Mamazu have been active in presenting tracks and mixes for brands such as adidas, ADAM ET ROPE’, BEAMS, EVISEN, HUF, SON OF THE CHEESE, to name a few.


HOLE AND HOLLAND所属。90年代中期頃からDJとして活動を始める。Dj Barから野外まで独自の視点で形成される有機的なプレイを続け今を踊らせる。これまでにFuji Rock FestivalやBoiler Room、香港のCassio、ロンドンのNTS Radioなどに出演。ドイツでのツアーも成功させた。またプロデューサーとして様々な国のレーベルから楽曲やRemixを発表し、Nicola CruzによるRemixもリリース。それらの楽曲は高い評価を得てAndrew WeatherallをはじめAcid ArabやEYE, Jane Fitz, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Martha Van Straatenなど多くのDJにプレイされている。さらにadidas  OriginalsやADAM ET ROPE’, BEAMS, EVISEN, HUF, SON OF THE CHEESEなどにも楽曲やMIXを提供。2021年には世界の伝統音楽を当世流に表現した新レーベル"SABI"を始動した。

HOLE AND HOLLAND傘下に自分のレーベル"Sabi"を始めたので、リリース業務やマーチャンダイズのデザインしたり。若手にトラックの作り方を教えたりもしています。
個人的な活動だと次にリリースするレコードのトラックやオファーのあった所に向けてトラックを制作しています。

2021年12月3日　国の史跡に指定されている竹田城跡にGroundさんをお迎えし撮影を行ってきました。竹田城跡は、城下町から見上げるような山頂にあり、天候や気温によって城下を流れる円山川に発生する川霧の雲海に浮かぶ様子から「天空の城」「日本のマチュピチュ」などと言われ広く知られる山城跡です。

On December 3, 2021, we welcomed Ground to Takeda Castle Ruins, which has been registered as a national historic site, for a video shoot. Takeda Castle Ruins is a mountain castle ruins located on a mountaintop looking up from the castle town, and is widely known as "castle in the sky" or "Machu Picchu in Japan" because of the way it floats in a sea of clouds created by river fog that forms in the Maruyama River flowing under the castle depending on the weather and temperature.

Based in Osaka, Ground processes and reconstructs sounds he encounters around the world to create new creations for the dancefloor. evoke visions of pulsating otherworldly ecosystems. Immersing oneself in these sounds often feels like transcending the human-alien divide.

He started DJing in his teens and has played all over Japan, based in Osaka's underground music scene. He was one of the founders of the Chill Mountain collective, which held regular parties on the mountainside of Osaka, and later, together with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills, started to focus on the record label Chill Mountain Recordings. He began to focus his efforts on the Chill Mountain Recordings record label with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills. They have performed at various festivals and events in over 21 countries, including the USA, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Ecuador, Croatia, Israel, Cyprus and Switzerland.

He has a thriving personal career, with a rich and complex catalogue of EPs, singles and collaborations, as well as seven albums & seven Ep releases, including his 2018 world debut album SUNIZM on the LA label ESP Institute.
